I spent a whole week with a girl in Phuket.
She was good and it cost me 6000 Baht.
That's about $200 for the whole week.
It was good fun but it almost destroyed my marriage.
After taking the redundancy, and still not having found a job yet, I've decided to take a cheap holiday to get my mind off things (I don't think anyone will be hiring before end of year anyway).
Was thinking of going to Thailand maybe later this month for a week or two. What are people's experiences with punting there? Am I able to have a girl keep me company for my whole time there? If so, how much would it cost? And what is the quality of girls there? I'm in the mood to have a 'pretend girlfriend', so would just like to hang out with one girl throughout the trip.
Are there a lot of scammers in Thailand?

Go to a bar and find a white guy who looks comfortable and ask him how it wrks.
I have no advice but I hope you have a great time on holiday and best of luck with the job hunt when you get back.
I travel to Thailand quite a lot for business and you can find some nice quality girls at some of the go go bars there.
Where are you looking at staying?
If you stay in Bangkok I recommend going to the adult district in Nana. It's famous for its nightlife and quality of girls are pretty good. You can either hire for a short stay or overnight and looking at about $200AUD for an overnight stay. This includes the bar fine you need to pay to take the girl home.
Orherwise try the clubs. There is a famous strip with all the best nightclubs there and the girls are usually very easy to approach and talk to.
Plan where you are to stay in Thailand. Bangkok, Pattaya, Patong on Phuket etc.
First make sure where you are staying permits you to bring girls back to your room. Search for girl friendly hotels in the area you decide to stay. Other hotels may charge a joiner fee which at times can be excessive. If meeting girls in bars (free lancers) they will know short time hotels to go to but be very wary of your valuables. Try to ensure your hotel room has a safe for your valuables and passport etc.
Ladies are generally quite easy to meet in bars and freelance areas such as Nana. Some google research before your trip would not go astray. Most of the areas are quite exciting in many respects. There are many warnings about going to see live shows in upstairs areas where you may find you are subjected to rip off prices and detained until you part with your money.
You learn by experience and I am down one gold neck chain and one digital camera as a portion of my learning course.
Some people suggest going by the three day rule and meet and stay with a girl for three days and then let her go and find another. Where I stayed in Bangkok it was not unusual to see some guests come to breakfast the next day with two young lady friends.
Pattaya absolutely jumps with a lot of free lance ladies and short time bars in Soi 6. Do a search of Youtube for Soi 6 and you will understand what I am suggesting. In all instances stay away from hiring jet skis (massive rip off problems) try not to get too hammered to keep your wits around you. Becareful with your drinks with ladies and ensure you only drink from sealed bottles not left unattended. There has also been instances (too many) of persons having their drinks tampered with (drugged) and the male falls into a deep sleep before awakening to find all in his room has been removed. Some hotels will insist on your companion leaving proof of her identity which is not a bad safe guard for you if you get ripped off. For all I have said it is a lively and energetic place. Half your luck and I hope you enjoy your trip.
In Pattaya and parts of Bangkok it's almost impossible not to punt/pick up girls etc.
Girls will approach you all the time.
In Bangkok I set our 4 days in a row with the noble intention of seeing the big reclining golden Buddha and each time I was derailed by young ladies.
Almost every bar will have bar girls keen to go with you - it's almost impossible to just walk past a bar or have a quiet drink in a bar without being approached.
It's just too easy.
Have fun.
It's a good idea to stay at Pattaya, just $30 cab ride from Bangkok airport.
There are around 98 bars in Walking St as per the map on this link:
http://www.pattayabarguide.com
The premium girls are in the Walking St area for $150 over night or $100 short time including bar fine. Most are dancing nude so there are no surprises back in your room.
On the back streets I've had quite a good time for $25 full service. These are not timed sessions either- just as long as it takes till the job is done.
There is a great soapy land district too. There were about 50 girls with numbers all waving to be chosen in the one palace I went to.
I was there in September and the army/police presence has not adversely affected the operation in any way.
If you meet a girl in a gogo bar or 'beer bar', there is very little chance of you being scammed / drugged / robbed, because the girl represents the bar. If you go for a freelancer, ie someone who works the streets or regular bar or nightclub, then you increase that chance. Most reports of something bad happening come from guys who take Ladyboys. If you're not doing that, then I wouldn't worry too much. But still, better to stick to the gogo bars. They're more expensive, but if you're worried about something bad happening, then that will put your mind at ease.
Go and then Go with the flow bro
Easy if you know
Where is bro Punter Poontang, he is the king of alll punting knowledge in Thailand. You may want to browse other countries general and AR's on here. There is some quality information in there about BKK and Pattaya.
I often go to Thailand and the Philippines. If your after a girl as a travelling cumpanion I suggest trying craiglist.
Put up a post with your intended time of travel a short itinery and ask for a travelling companion. Make sure you state what your looking for. I always ask for a three holer and that does not mind rough play. Just be eloquent as about it. Always ask for a picture and to Skype prior to meeting.
I usually get university students and girls between 20-25... I've paid from 1000 for week to 500 for two. It depends on the girl.
Ask for ID once you have picked the girl. I once almost made a very very bad deal...
Have fun and stay safe.
you gotta be careful in some parts of thailand as it is dangerous. i think in terms of girls pattaya might be the cheapest.
phuket i think the girls were 50 dollars for over night, bar girls anyway.
and bangkok was the more expensive side of thailand. many people believe its becoming the next korea with all these mls getting plastic surgery there.
I wouldn't worry about Craigslist, so easy to find someone in BKK or main Thailand haunts. Talk to them before you ask them back to your hotel room.
oh yeah abit of advice, ask to see there passport. you don't wanna end up going in with a lady boy or underage girl.
so common to happen in thailand
Just go to Pattaya. It's cheaper than Phuket and Bangkok, too.
Ignore all this specific advice about particular streets - Soi 6 as mentioned above is a specific 'short time' street where you would go, mostly in the daytime, for a quick in and out. It's not for me, it's mainly filthy types (both the customers and girls) that frequent that Soi. But it's certainly an experience to walk along at 4pm in the afternoon!
Walking Street is the main area and is well worth a visit, but treat it as a fun exercise rather than a punting ground as these days it's chocka with tourists and the prices for everything are astronomical. You may, however, find something you very much like there. Be prepared to pay for it, and always always speak to other people about prices. At least 80% of the Westerners you see will be either residents or multiple visitors and will love to help, so speak to them.
You may find more luck in Soi LK Metro, which has some great bars and gogos without battling for a seat with goggle-eyed tourists. Go everywhere and just look around.
My personal advice is just to go, book a hotel somewhere central. Definitely not Walking Street, you may want to get away from it at - trust me.
The beach is dire, so don't be fooled into staying somewhere next to it and paying a premium.
My suggestion would be Soi 13/1, there are a couple of OK places along there and it's a short walk to everything for a newbie without being OTT. The road is fairly quiet.
August Suites in Central Pattaya is OK if you can get a nice rate.
But anywhere will be acceptable, just don't go tooo cheap as you'll regret it. Pay about 1000 per night or so, if your budget will stretch it, certainly no less than 6 or 700.
No hotels will have regulations on 'visitors' unless you go high end like the Dusit Thani or possibly the Marriot.
So yeah, just go, make it out for yourself and just have fun. Ignore most advice, probably including half of what I've written.
But be careful not to do anything dumb, like picking someone up off the street when you're drunk and taking her back to your room without lots of precautions. She can wait if she's that good. Lock valuables in a safe and only carry enough cash - never anything else - for the evening and not wallets, credit cards, passports etc etc. And finally I'd suggest 1) drinking electrolyte powder to keep your strength up in that zapping weather, which is available at any pharmacy there for 10 baht a packet, and 2) starting each night early and finishing early, it's a better way to enjoy yourself there - particularly as a newcomer. Viagra available over the counter.
Have fun wherever you go.
