I'm headed to Dalian in China in a couple of weeks to teach English for a year and was wondering if anyone knows what the action is like over there, places to check out, costs etc. My Chinese (Mandarin) is basic so I reckon that would limit your options

This forum has a lack of overseas intel. Most of the punters here don't have the wisdom to get themselves overseas to enjoy the fruits of travels.

I'd also be installing WeChat. If you already have WeChat suggest setting up a new account for Dalian as your account will get busy.

Thanks HH for the weblink - have already been put on to Wechat by a chinese friend. From some initial research looks like there are plenty of options in Dalian which is reputed to have the most beautiful women in china. I am planning to be there for a year or two so will try and check out some of the following:

dance halls
saunas/bath houses
karaoke bars (KTVs)
barbershops
escorts

and there is always the good old option of trying to pick up at one of the bars that the more adventurous local women frequent - I hear the Shangrila is a good place to start
