A couple of really cool tracks have been spinning around my head and my playlist.
Yumi Arai - Rouge No Dengon.
If you love Hayao Miyazaki, and a great track from the mid 70's.

AKB48 - Heavy Rotation.
The greatest JPop song of all time.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu - PONPONPON.
A nice track from a time long ago, it would seem.

Tugging at my heartstrings, ever so tightly.
In the space between a blink and a tear,
Death blooms.
A J-Pop connoisseur? Was a fan of Utada Hikaru while I was there. Just loved how she bypassed the system designed to churn out pretty pop stars by making a name for herself in the states and then returning to Japan. Even when she was interviewed she just wouldn't fit the mould they wanted her to. Plus she is a talented young lady. Addicted to you. Wait and see. Soundtrack to my time there (along with Hamasaki Ayumi. God I loved her...)
By no means a connoisseur my friend.
I was really into Jpop and Cosplay, artists like Yohio were my favs. And early AKB48, I forget some of the others (Harajuku bridge cosplay based on the fashion culture, not the gaming/movie phenomenon it has become). And then, Japan and I had a rather large falling out. For many years. I wouldnt even eat sushi, weird huh?
If you have any suggestions, please send more my way.
Arigato gozaimasu.
Will dig through my old collection for a look.
Have you given Babymetal a run?
Metal elitists rag out on them, and they are a bit bubblegum, BUT as much as their first album was a vit of fun (with some good songs), their second musically was in fact very good (employing a full-time band of serious metal musicians helped.) Karate was popular but the song Sis Anger is death metal with a cute Japanese girl singing about how annoying boys are.. Their live shows are utterly insane. https://youtu.be/MNFJR-W05c8

Yeah I hear you. I used to live there and after a rather messy break up and departure I fell out of love. But soon normality was restored and I fell back in love with it. Wonderful place. Beautiful people. Fantastic girls..

Listening while having a quiet beer or two.
Written in the aftermath of September 11th so lyrically it has aged, the riffs on this though are Gary Holt at his monstrous best. Atrocity Exhibition up there as one of their best albums.
