Let the world call me a fool
But if things are right with me and you
That's all that matters, and I'll do
Anything you ask me to
Knowing how much I love you
And after all that I've been through
I'd turn and walk away from you
Just because you ask me to.
Billy Joe Shaver helped Waylon write that one as well. Great song.
I have ABC on the TV more often than not, so to my surprise they chose to use this tune in their promos. Being a bass lover, I can't get enough. Joe Dart goes alright.

Haha - I am sure the Dukes of Hazzard would be cringe worthy these days but when I was a kid it was must watch TV when it was on. The good ol boys......

It was absolutely must watch. Hasn't aged well at all, and the movie reboot was a steaming pile of turds, but having Waylon Jennings narrate as a great southern sage was the highlight of my week back then. Even as a 6 year old, Daisy Duke in cut off jean shorts and a midriff bare flanelette shirt with cleavage everywhere was a sight to behold.
You've started me on a trip down memory lane, 80s tv was a golden era, so many great innovative shows.
Other shows that I made sure I was sat in front of the tv for the theme song were:
Battlestar Galactica. https://youtu.be/8hrd767Xzfk
Miami Vice. https://youtu.be/dEjXPY9jOx8
Tales of the Gold Monkey. https://youtu.be/Njj3c5AFLhA
But the best tv show of all time, and the reboot is an absolute travesty, is Magnum p.i. https://youtu.be/LBIgXhiOpeQ
Correct, the scene in the Vice pilot when Crockett and Tubbs are driving, Phil Collins In The Air Tonight is playing, Tubbs is loading the shotgun, what a way to start a series. He directed a couple of my other all time screen favourites, Smokey and the Bandit and Heat.
Apparently he's doing a new show, Tokyo Vice.
Found you a version with Billy Joe singing it. Not sure if his son was playing guitar with him on this one. Waylon probably had the better voice to be fair.

Edit: It is Willie Nelson playing and singing backing vocals.
I don’t care - Ed Sheeran
