Why would we (punters) go to an STI clinic? GPs are free if you bulk bill and if you don't want your regular GP to know anything then just pick a different GP for the sole purpose of STI checks.

The specialist STI clinics are generally intended for gays and SWs and wouldn't turn those groups away for not having symptoms.

An important point: once you are diagnosed with an STI, you are automatically entered into a database as a high risk individual. Don’t be surprised if you get asked by your GP out of the blue to go get tested… they see everything about your history!

Sexual health clinics are much better than GPs.
Go to Liverpool sexual health clinic and see the Indian female Dr she really does knows her stuff. The last time I went for my annual health check two stunning Thai MILFs showed up at reception for their checkup.
The other sexual health clinic I’d recommend is Kogarah - the old Aussie female Dr is quite good and knowledgeable in this respect. When I went for my health check the previous year she asked if I would mind if a young intern (quite attractive at that) could be an observer.
The city based sexual health clinics can be quite busy and pedestrian like.

    2nd the Kogarah one.

Also GPs won't mention the rare stuff like mycoplasma whereas the clinics will

GP's require Medicare card - assuming they do bulk bill. STD clinics you are completely anonymous. Clinics are also better at diagnosing bizarre infections as all they do is see sex related problems. Kings Cross has been good for me but years ago I did like one out Marrickville way where the young female doc with easily discernible G string under her thin pants was a real turn on.

i tried that, if the other GP uses the same laboratory chain, he can see all your previous result from that group of laboratory under your name and medicare number. i went to a 3rd GP that uses different brand name laboratory and he did not mention any of my "previous" bloodwork

PS: if GP ask where you think you might get infected from, and you say i went to this and that brothel, will there be a some sort of investigation? i told him i was having a sexy time with a backpacker and she already left the country.

I just say I'm gay, and the GP takes it as given that I'm having a heap of sex.

I didn't know STI clinics don't need a Medicare card??? That's vital news because do y'all know that all your Medicare card history appears in your myGov account (even if you opted out of the medical history scheme)? The medicare history appears with an item number which an investigative wife could figure out with a simple Google search. But, and this is the good news, it disappears after 3 years. I was relieved to find that. But from now on I'll go to an STI clinic if that's true about no Medicare card.

I had very brief BBFS with a MILF from 102 Liverpool before. Seems she does it regularly because of how nonchalantly she put my cock in. I just pulled it off so she could resume BBBJ but she took that as a sign to start riding me.

Lucky nothing bad happened, but I pulled out within a few seconds and asked her to finish me in BBBJ. She did clean my cock before doing that, so I'm sure she's taking care not to catch anything, but it's still a gamble.

    Not true!
Sexual Health Clinics require Medicare card.
They just don't ask you because they have it in record from your previous visits.
The first thing they ask you is to fill up a form where you have to give your medicare card number.

That's is absolutely not true. Stop providing false information. Sexual health clinics does not 'require' Medicare card. That will ask you for it in the form so they can charge back to the health system. If you decline and say you do not wish to provide, they will still treat you.

How do I know? Because I have been to one before.

These clinics were design to be the safety net for the sexually active who is not covered by Medicare (such as overseas students). Their operation is funded differently (could be donation or fund raising). So to use it if you have a card is abusing the system, but that a whole different discussion.

I have been to Sexual Health Clinic too and talking from experience.

Now I have never declined to give them my medicare info.
And it doesn't say in the form it's optional so I naturally assumed it was required.
    It was a simple misunderstanding.
So I am happy to admit I may be wrong.

Anyway, this guy "king of xxx" seems to have all the answers about Sexual Health.
    Please refer to him everyone.

Isn’t it the same with GPs? Say you go to a new GP that you’ve never gone to. If you choose not to use bulk billing and want to pay to see the doc and get checked, what’s stopping you from doing that?
Surely that’s how a foreigner who got sick in Australia can get some medical attention seeing a GP?

I’m with Mr Kingqxxx on this one, though Mr Yug and others swear blind that a Medicare card is required.

Are we all talking about the same thing here? ie are we talking about the real deal, fully fledged, unadulterated, no holds barred, no Medicare card required sexual health clinic OR are we talking about a medical centre with GPs, a pathology lab, a shrink, and a sexual advice unit, now turned into a Covid-19 vaccination centre ?

Anyway in order to separate the shit from the clay and nip this at the bud:
    https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/sexual...-check-up.aspx

Tip: unlike medical centres occasionally you can pick up some good sorts at sexual health clinics…….(just saying)

All good kingq!...No Problem at all.
    Wasn't offended.
Its just that, on this forum, you got to put your guard up.
Thanks for letting me know of my mistake.
If I knew before it was optional to provide Medicare, I would have opted for it too.

    Hey DA,
Like I said in my comments to kingqxxx, I was under the impression that we needed to provide Medicare number on the form.
    That's what I always did.
But it seems its optional as kingqxxx and others have pointed out.
So not swearing by it at all.
