As long as you don't go to any parties you should be fine. Last Friday, police busted a party involving up to 100 people in a national park near Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains, with many receiving fines for breaching coronavirus restrictions. It appears the message about social distancing is not getting through to some people!

Serious question; does anyone on this forum know anyone that has Covid 19?

I don't know anyone in Australia that has it and I have heaps of family in Melbourne.

I have only heard of 2 people who are friends of family members over in Canada.

I've done the Covid test but am getting a sore throat so might do it again.

    Chances are no.
Australia has a population of 25,000,000 people and there are a few thousand people that have caught it.

I had a friend that had it in nsw. Was supposedly really bad too and took a very long time to get over it completely.

It affects people in different ways. Some can get over quickly while others take longer to recover. People with chronic conditions or compromised immune systems are at greater risk of more serious illness if they are infected with the virus.

Just out of interest, international studies suggest those with blood type A are more at risk, but experts say further evidence is needed. Findings from Chinese researchers indicated that people with type A blood might be more susceptible to contracting the virus, while those with type O blood may be more protected.

Yeah have heard about the type a and type o blood aswell. Will be interesting to see when more research is done on the subject. Most people seem to get over it pretty quickly tho and only mild symptoms.
Ive been hesitant the last couple of weeks to go punting because of the latest new cases in nsw.

Can someone explain this to me,
You go to a pub or a restaurant and gathers 50plus new cases. Not one case from a massage shop or brothel.. would you tell authorities you got it from a happy shop? Or deny deny deny ?

I would deny I being to happy shop. Have anyone know if any girl got covid or the shop is hiding it? It just doesn't make sense you can get infected at Cafe,/pub/restaurant but not happy shops??????

i had been wondering about this as well - the ethical thing to do is to say you'd been to a shop and identify the girl you were with, but the part of me that doesn't want this part of my lifestyle exposed would be tempted to deny everything.

It does feel that it's been out of sheer luck that no punter or WL/ML has been officially diagnosed. Can you imagine the immediate set of contacts that would be exposed - 1 WL/ML or punter, their clients (X per day for up to 14 days?), WL/ML/client colleagues and family.....yeesh!

The difference is the numbers involved.
The amount of people vising brothels is a drop in the bucket compared to the number of people going to church / pubs / restaurants.
You can be 10 or even 100 times more likely to catch it from an infected person in a commercial sexual setting than a social one, but when looked at from the "whole of society" level churches / funerals / pubs / clubs / restaurant will still dominate.

As to telling a contact tracer if I had been to a sex-on-premises establishment, yes of course I would.
If a brothel or massage parlor has an infected worker (it is unlikely given the numbers, but in this scenario that ship has sailed) then we are all at high risk of the cases exploding.

When I went to 42 they wanted my number and I gave it to them without an issue.

If clients are unwilling to do that honestly, then that is a good reason to shut the industry down again.
We are utterly dependent on the contact tracers to stay safe.
Victoria is an illustration of what can go terribly wrong when someone who is infected gets out into the community without knowing it.

Don’t under estimate the effects of any out break clusters! Just look at the Cross Road Hotel and Thai Rock restaurant ! BTW, the Thai Rock at Potts Point (same owner!) also had a staff tested positive last night so the spreading is real and dangerous!

So if there is any MLs or WLs or Punters who is unwell or has come into contact with any positive cases or high risks areas , you really should stay away, for everyone’s sake !!

Let’s be very careful out there !

That's what I was thinking as well, more chance of getting it at pubs, clubs and restaurants. When I did my shopping last week, it was packed full of people.

All you need is a punter infected to visit a Ml/Wl to infect the girls working in the shop and punters visiting the shop.

Hope I am wrong but in my view, shops are going to be closed again. It’s only a matter of time.

If, as cuteguy says, punters won't reveal they have been to a brothel, then yes sex-on-premises shops will need to be closed down.
If we won't follow the rules then we don't get to play.

ABC news just announced there were 723 new cases overnight in Victoria.

I think there is no other option but go for a complete lock down to stop the spreading !
