This is true. People are just using all the extra liquidity to buy themselves out of "trouble". Phil Lowe with his PhD in Optimistic Thinking was hoping all the extra liquidity created by extra low interest rates woulda made people put money in productive assets like manufacturing companies etc to drive the econony, but nooo, it all went to bubbly property asset bubbles and the likes. Tough luck, looks like Optimistic Thinking wasn't very helpful after all!
Well, let's see how this pans out. Human beings are social animals, who wants to be a recluse if they don't have to be one?

The RBA keeps saying "bubbles are not our problem, we just focus on the immediate economy"... Well, if something big enough to wipe out the entire financial stability of the thing they're "in charge" of comes along, surely they would recognise that eventually something that wasn't their problem would become their problem? Maybe instead of a PhD, he just needs a better pair of glasses!

Ha ha. By contrast the ACT has reached 97% first doses for all over 12s. They will be a great test case for a dream run post opening up. Just goes to show the difference an educated rational community can make. Compare that with the US.

The doctors and epidemiologists are saying that everyone is going to get covid-19. "It is just a matter of time" they are saying. I just read it in today's Australian Financial Review.

That means you reading this now are going to get it. Yes, you.

    And me.

What do you think about that?

I'm vaxxed, sure, but not looking forward to the dice roll of our individual way of responding to it.

That has been common knowledge for ages scoop. The whole idea of vaccinations is so you don't end up in hospital. Lockdowns etc is to slow the spread and to keep the hospitals from being over run. There will be a huge increase of cases in the next few weeks, hopefully the hospitals won't be over run and then cases will drop again.

Then in the end is like a common flu we have every year but we are only hoping it turn out that way. If this covid is only get everyone some fever, cough, sneezing and not going to hospital and many dies the government wouldn't care just ask people to take some aspin.

Well it wasn't obvious to me, and I don't think the fact that everyone is going to get covid-19 was obvious to many others either. Put your hand up if you didn't know this astonishing fact within the mountains of data we've been deluged in. I think it is far from common knowledge. The Spanish Flu, the last great pandemic, was deadlier, but far from everyone caught it. It was more like 5% from vague memory. This time around, everyone is going to catch covid. This is unprecedented, and it isn't me saying it, it is the medical experts.

    It was quite obvious.

If double vaxxed ppl can get covid and double vaxxed ppl have already died, it is inevitable we'll all get it unless you stay isolated

And when the international borders open and a new strain slips through no one will know until ppl get infected.

Look at the mutated new delta case that just came into the local community.

We don't know where it came from

We didn't even know who the international traveller was who brought it in and how it got into the community

delta was the indian varient of covid, it got into Sydney from air crew of a freight flight and was spread initially around the eastern suburbs by the limo driver who was unvaccinated

Chin up, bro, it's not all doom and gloom. There's every chance that over time, COVID will evolve / mutate into a much less lethal variant. If that were to happen, such a variant would gain dominance because it would be able to keep the hosts alive and continue to spread much easier than a lethal one.
Maybe it's already started happening. The Delta variant itself appears to be less lethal than the original variant even though it is more transmissible.

I don't understand, and it is never explained, how "asymptomatic" covid is possible. btw, how the fuck can we be two years into this and there are still basic things that have never been explained? Covid is a coronavirus, so is the common cold. Has anyone in the history of the universe had an "unsymptomatic" common cold? No! You either have a cold or you don't. So is the flu. You either have the flu or you don't. That is it. I fail to see how having loads of covid-19 virus in your body can result in no symptoms at all. Get a bit of dirt in a scratch for example and it will get really inflamed. Yet we are expected to believe that a body full of foreign virus causes nothing at all. I don't fucking believe it. More relevantly the human immune response doesn't believe it either.

Let's not create any more fear and panic. The latest 'moronic' variant has only mild symptoms. Covid19 is here to stay and will never be eliminated thanks to Dr Fauci and his gain a function research. We just need to live with it and get back to normality.

I don’t see NSW entering lockdown again, unless Omnicron leads to a lot of cases resulting in hospitalization. For the majority of us who are vaxxed, I’d say we’d be quite likely to contract it anyway - and we’ll just experience it and move on.

The cost of lockdown again is far too much for the govt to want to do that again...

Least of your concern is an Asian from overseas as their government processes and procedures are strict and people are compliant in contrast to white Aussies that protest against vaccination and the many of non compliant local citizens, on top of that the numerous amount of disobedience shown to disregard public health orders and getting arrested by police.

No Government is gonna to take the risk of another lockdown when Xmas is just around the corner. They call this risk assessment! Especially when you now have an ex Treasurer as Premier.

Let people live and spend ! They decided.

If you are infected, so be it, you should have been all fully vaccinated by now !

Let’s see whether we are still the lucky country in a months time.

    Stay safe everyone.

    Cheers
