Suggest go to Pharmacy to get something to treat the fungus first if you have thick dead skin at heels what is also called "Athletes Foot".

That works better before physical dead skin removal.

Mani/pedi shops are unisex. Just go in and ask, unless it's fungus/ big time calluses etc then Yeah, podiatrist would be the go..
