On the back of the posts about punters age and beginnings I had a few people ask what the cross was like in the 80's.
So with a fair few of you admitting to starting punting around then why not share a few memories and stories eh!

Not only did I punt in the Cross I also helped out a mate at nights who ran a sex shop in the Cross so I had access to a bit more of the life of the Cross than most I guess.

So here is a brief start to the Cross in the 80's from me.

There were about 4 major strip clubs where entry ranged from $0 if you knew who to ask to up to $20. I was addicted to one particular dark girl who I would see any time she was working. Loved to watch her strip and then take her upstairs afterwards for some one on one time.
Some of the clubs provided lap dances in private rooms, some had live sex shows some had drinking competitions on stage with the winner given half an hour with the dancer of his choice.
I won the only 2 drinking contest I entered and also paired up with a stunning Indonesian stripper for a live show on stage. Ended up spending the next week at her place being woken by her grinding on my hard cock each morning, then she would cook me breakfast and off to work we would go. I worked in a City at a major Computing company at the time.
Of course Les Girls on Roslyn Lane wasn't it.... right opposite the kebab place. That place was packed....so popular amongst couples.

Then there was the Barrel!!!!
Now how they were allowed to operate was beyond me, they did get chased out of the cross to somewhere around Liverpool eventually but anyone who went there would most likely have been in a state of shock. When they moved to Bayswater rd, right near the Brothel with themed rooms (oh man the straw barn was dynamite) the place would be packed out and the dancers would offer up there pussies for a lick or tickle to the full front row. It was as bawdy and rowdy as you could imagine in there and not a face mask or antibacterial wash in sight. Debauchery ruled and pretty much anything was allowed.

Brothels - heaps.
All the strip clubs offered services, then there were too many brothels to count or mention for now plus Salon Kittys for BDSM. A couple on Victoria, 3 around Kellett, the aforementioned themed room place on Bayswater. The Golden Apple was my go to shop at the time, they just had better looking ladies. My fav was a chick with the most amazingly silky hair way down past her bum. I used to love the feel of it on my naked body as she rode me.

Adult Shops - Club x (Martin) had about 3 shops and there were Video booths/rooms where you could watch alone or bring a working girl in with you.
Martin was also known to offer young ladies their choice of freebies if they accommodated his fetishes. I once walked in on him with his fist up a young lass on the floor. There was also a shop downstairs next to the railway which had about 4 spacious Video rooms with tissues and a chair provided.

Street Walkers - Dozens and dozens all down William St and Riley st and the back streets. The cops would trawl around in their wagons chatting to the girls and taking them in for a bit of fun. A steady flow of Government Comm Cars would cruise down the lane behind 2JJJ and pick up the trannies. A cop car once rammed me accidentally whilst I was getting a blow job in the front seat down a back lane. That led to a fairly comical exchange.
Darlinghurst road had a fair few girls near the Top of the Town and how many of you remember the batman incident in the building on the corner of Darlinghurst and William just as you turn left in to William to go back to the city.
Quite a few chicks used to hitch hike from out Norht and Sout West to work the streets and others just worked when Rent was due. There was an ever changing selection.

Crowds -
So many people used to be on the main drag on a Saturday night. Hardly any room to walk around. There was an all night take away, burgers, kebas etc on the corner of Bayswater and one night a bunch of guys in a crowd of at least 50 people were kicking and hitting a blow up doll and calling it a slut , it was fucking hilarious to watch.

Gambling - The Barclay club on Bayswater and a few other hotels ran at least half a dozen BlackJack and Russian Poker tables from dusk till dawn (without the blood and guts) and there were many smaller coffee shops running one table games usually poker. I was asked to leave the Barclay twice because I count cards and made it a bit too obvious. Jock , the big Irishman who had a penchance for really loud music and provided Gay Porn for his staff, also ran a massive illegal Poker Card Machine den but you had to know someone to get in.

Crime - probably best to skirt over this one, lets just say I have visited a lot of the colorful identities on the time at their homes. Drugs were pretty easy to get hold of. Lost count of the number of times I was offered some form of illicit substance at the snooker rooms above the station or in the strip clubs.
Amyl Nitrate was available at pretty much every adult shop too.
Saw 3 murders in my time there too, probably no need to talk about them though.

Well that will do for a starter I guess......

Would love to hear others stories and recollections. I could literally fill a book or two.
