The amount of people vising brothels is a drop in the bucket compared to the number of people going to church / pubs / restaurants.
You can be 10 or even 100 times more likely to catch it from an infected person in a commercial sexual setting than a social one, but when looked at from the "whole of society" level churches / funerals / pubs / clubs / restaurant will still dominate.
As to telling a contact tracer if I had been to a sex-on-premises establishment, yes of course I would.
If a brothel or massage parlor has an infected worker (it is unlikely given the numbers, but in this scenario that ship has sailed) then we are all at high risk of the cases exploding.
When I went to 42 they wanted my number and I gave it to them without an issue.
If clients are unwilling to do that honestly, then that is a good reason to shut the industry down again.
We are utterly dependent on the contact tracers to stay safe.
Victoria is an illustration of what can go terribly wrong when someone who is infected gets out into the community without knowing it.
