Like most bros, here...taking the sensible approach and refraining while the cases are as high as they are.

Funny thing, had a punt about a week ago and thought get it out my system before a nice break during the festive season and this COVID spike but because the session was so good... it has made me wanting to jump back in asap.. esp when I know the girl will be back on shift from next week. Aren't we just sorry pricks?? (Well me anyway..)

11,201 today. Hazard said it would be 25,000 by the end of January and he was heckled. On this tracking it will go way past that.

You don't just get it, keel over and die immediately. Too early to correlate case numbers with deaths.

Also like to point out, the ratio of number of positive cases vs number of tests has risen tremendously even when compared to during the peak of the Delta wave. We're currently at about 7.13% of tests being positive. Not sure how to correlate this with the general public though.

I read it somewhere yesterday that the "WHO" states anything over 5% is a big problem.

Total still only have 625 people in hospital, 61 in ICU and 23 using ventilator.

Considering we have 47K cases in the past week. I guess the systems so far is coping. But the testing sectors are getting overwhelmed!

What I don't understand is if Hazzard was forecasting 25000 cases in January then why didn't he prepare for it? He is the Health minister. Why not allocate more funding for tests or other measures to handle any new cases? PCR tests are not 100% reliable and take time to get results. Why not order enough supply of RATs so people can test themselves and have results within 15 minutes?

Yeah, assuming that even if 5% of the cases are ending up in hospital it would be ~2500 and given that they have false positives. It would be just a matter of time when that opens up, and not sure how many cases are not accounted for.

Hopefully they have all the backup plans for uncertainty.

Our only best is that the variant is not as effective as the delta. May be it will just a flu kinda of scenario. It will won’t be alarming but it will stay and we can get boosters until a proper medication is evolved.

With this premier is your responsibility to protect yourself. With the previous premier is the government responsibility to protect you. Now we know how a different a change of leader can have different outcome from the same political party.

I know heaps of Thai girls who work in taverns now have Omicron.

Some are posting constant updates of their situation on social media.

Seems like the government puts you in hotel isolation if you live in a share house. The girls seem to be recovering okay though.

I think the gov has decided the horse has bolted and are taking the odds that it needs to be managed instead of eradicated.. Maybe with the new Pifer pill for covid treatment, they think we can live with it and get along with our lives??

Unfort for business n families, it is not that easy to constantly adapt..

The Government never said it would be eradicated. It just has to be managed while each variant is less and it ends up being just another flu strain.

I still don't understand what all the fuss is about....close to 95% double vaxed. One of the highest vaxed places in the world. The vaxed are at low risk to contract Covid and, can't spread the virus or end up in hospital. The 11,000 plus infections are all unvaxed.

That's not a statistic it's an obvious assumption on my part. Just a rough calculation.
