There are ways but involves money on top of your property purchase. One is buy government bonds with min 45M(?) baht. Second is start a company but you could not own more than 49% of the company. Otherwise buy with a Thai partner. Safest is buy a condo. If you are fortunate to buy land, you get max. up to 1 Rai which I think is 4k sqm.
