If or when I muster up the balls to get a prescription, what sort of prices do the chemist charge for it?

Also, because I'm not comfortable asking my regular GP for it since my whole extended family goes to him and he's known me since I was a kid, I was thinking about just going to a random medical centre and getting the next available GP. Has anyone got a prescription for this on the first time seeing that doctor?
