    Suit Tailors in Asia

Does anyone have any recommendations for tailor made suits in Asia where you've got yourself a suit recently (say this year)?

I was wondering what the impact of the lack of tourism had on this industry, and whether tailors are still around and delivering good quality products.

Off the rack suits are really cheap here in Sydney, and stores like Johnny Big, Lowes always have items on sale, than you can take them to a Tailor if they need hemming,

but probably the best thing you can do is google tailors in the area you are visiting, and read up on shop reviews, than inspect some of the shops work they have just completed for a client that's ready for picked up,
also have in mind what you want made and be prepared to wait at least 2 weeks,
tailors also have off the rack regular size shirts already made,

pre covid most cities in Asia have tailor shops in abundance.

Often Indian tailors ( Singapore were plenty I recall).

So like all industries, Im sure they got hit very hard with no international tourism and business travelers past two years.

I use to travel with one colleague that every few years would get his suits in HK and Singapore. Suits were well tailored and far cheaper than here. trying different shops and haggling is part of the game

I was in India in 2017 and 18 working ..lots of tailor shops in most shopping areas and dedicated areas.

in the end I got a nice suit but when I'm back here it didn't last as long as locally purchased suits.

I just buy suits locally now. so much less stress.
Yea im trying to compare the costs & time of going overseas vs just getting it locally.

if its a good opportunity for a holiday, good punts and some suits with it i might head over there haha

Sure there will probably good deals to find now.

Shop around usually they are in clusters. And often related haha (cousins etc).
Dont let them take you to the back room for tea or tell you their cousin lives coincidentally in your area.

    Haggle !

haha nice clip, i think i have to do some online research of current prices in Thailand especially for clothing, t-shirts, hats, shorts and thongs, because those cute girls can make you pay more than double the Australian prices.

I don't think we should limit ourselves to any particular region since now there are many ateliers with delivery worldwide. My son chose one of Gentleman's Guru wedding suits, and we received the order pretty quickly, although we are a couple of thousand kilometers from the store. Even though the order was made without fitting, the suit fit my Jack perfectly, and he looked flawless. Therefore, I think you should not limit yourself to Asian or any other sweaty ones. Just choose a suit you like and place an order.
