As the other thread got closed we need somewhere to discuss the predicament we are in, politics aside. Some bros were saying it will go until September??? Shops to open in November???? I think this is crazy. 疯

I reckon realistically you are looking at a full or partial lockdown until at least the end of August.
But there could be another break out and lockdown again after that.
Until they get quarantine and vaccination right, this will keep on happening.
And as for open international borders at least June 2022.

Agree with you rooter bro.
This is worst than the first lockdown and we haven’t reached the peak yet before it flattens. So atleast a month is for granted .
and you are bang on the international travel . First everyone will get vaccinated and only then they will think about opening it ..

I sure hope it doesn't go to Christmas. The downward pressure on the Aussie economy, and therefore our collective wealth, will probably cancel out any money you can save from this. Don't forget we are the biggest component of the Aussie economy here.

I'm early 50s. Former competitive endurance athlete. I was fit and I went 6 years without a flu because I was always training and my respiratory system was strong. Then I got double pneumonia. 3 weeks in bed, lung scarring. I try to keep fit and active but I'm nothing like I ever was despite what I do. I get covid, I'm fucked. Simple as that.
That obviously doesn't apply to superior genetic examples such as you though. Fuck you're awesome dude.

I was outraged back in March when Professor Kelly the CMO, said vaccination "wasn't a race." The PM and McCormack said the same. The Financial Times editorial is also perplexed:
“It’s not a race,” prime minister Scott Morrison insisted in March, as concerns grew about what critics have called a vaccine “strollout”. He was wrong. Having squandered its early victory over the virus, despite being one of the world’s wealthiest countries, Australia now faces a costly round of restrictions as it struggles to protect a largely unimmunised population from outbreaks of the highly contagious Delta variant. Sydney, home to a fifth of the nation’s 25m people, is entering its third week of a lockdown due to stay in place until July 16. Australia now stands as a warning to other nations, not least neighbouring New Zealand, that a fortress approach to the virus cannot succeed in the absence of an effective vaccine programme.
Australia’s approach has been domestically popular until now. Polls show some three-quarters of the population have backed the border closures. Yet as a panel of experts wrote in a recent report on how the country could reopen, “Australia cannot continue to lock itself off from the world as a hermit nation indefinitely.” The social and economic costs are too large, especially for younger people. The wider lesson for a world facing ever more virus variants, is that glacial vaccine rollouts spell disaster, no matter how rich or hermetically sealed a country may be."

While ever there are people in our community who don’t give a rats arse about anyone but themselves this pandemic will continue.
Buckle up for the long haul people.
Going to be a long time before life returns to how it was before this all started.
And for the young and healthy types that reckon this virus won’t hurt them maybe you should prepare yourself for losing someone that you maybe might care about.
I wouldn’t be planning any overseas holidays anytime soon. Wouldn’t expect to see an influx of fresh young girls in shops either.
You could even spare a thought for all the small businesses that are struggling and may well not survive.
So sure…..survival of the fittest….but at what cost!!!!

Currently booked out until October
A poll showed that only about 50% of the population is willing to get the jab.
the rest saying no
and about 6-7% already have.
at this rate. mid next year we get 50% vaxed. But that's still not enough.
and that's with no new variants. and no booster needed (which pfizer says may be needed every 6 months)

Vaccinations will not provide the way out. Even if the adult population is 100% vaccinated it will not return us to normal.
The logic surrounding this proposition is there to see with the evidence evolving constantly. The UK experiment of having all restrictions cease on 19th July will be pivotal to future Govt decisions. I've yet to see or hear anything from the "experts" that can rationalise the future.
We have a long way to go yet.

This government spending isn't free money. Government can't print tv's and toliet paper and food. They're simply borrowing from it's population in the future to pay for it now. This Debt is put on the younger generation which will drastically affect the economy. Every dollar extra that gets taxed in the future to pay this debt is a dollar out of the economy.
The baby boomers in their lifetime has already enacted enough policies to rob the younger generation of so much wealth. This is just another Debt that's borrowed now, spent now and flipped to the next generation to pay off when you're all dead and gone.
Think about that before you start ripping on young people who want to go back to work and contribute to society.

1. No longer recommended for people under 60
https://www.health.gov.au/news/atagi-statement-on-revised-recommendations-on-the-use-of-covid-19-vaccine-astrazeneca-17-june-2021
2. It's only 81% effective vs 92% Pfizer
https://www.health.gov.au/news/atagi-statement-on-use-of-covid-19-vaccines-in-an-outbreak-setting
Earlier trials of COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca suggested that there is a trend towards a higher vaccine efficacy with a longer interval between the two doses of this vaccine. The protective efficacy against symptomatic COVID-19 was 55% (95% confidence intervals [CI]: 33, 70%) when the two doses were given 4 weeks apart, compared to 81% (95% CI: 60, 91%) when given 12 weeks apart.8
81% (3 months apart) goes down to 55% if you do your second dose at 1 months.
Vs pfizer which is 3 weeks apart.
Can't blame people for not wanting the shitter vaccine.
And you ain't getting your immunity for Astra even if you get it shot today. Need to wait 3 months before your second dose. and still less immunity.

Any doctor will authorise it if you don't have any underlying issues. AZ is better than nothing. Plus the next batches of Pfizer will have a warning of possible heart muscle inflammation. I would rather the very slight risk of a blood clot than something messing about with my heart. No problem but each to their own. BTW, you need to update your facts

Lockdown, so I'm at home and flicking through the free to air TV channels and it's one "reality" show after another.
And fuck they are one worse than the other.
Got me thinking there should be a WL/punter type one like maybe:
Punter Needs a Wife,
Hooker Needs a Hubby (for a visa),
Beauty and the Creep,
"Connected" at First Sight,
Surry Hills Has Got Talent,
The Real Housewives of Taren Point,
Little Brother,
So much potential there.
Why would anyone need those when we have this forum?

I was working in Brisbane a while ago, Met 7-80 yod gentleman.
He had kinda 80% boner, fucked me gentle and came in right time.
I checked condom and there was nothing much, I couldn't believe he came.
so I asked him, did you really??!
He said yeah, but I don't discharge something because I'm old I guess
weird experience...

Well you may be the prettiest girl in town, but maybe you're just not his type, so he faked cumming to avoid hurting your feelings. I've actually done that before. It's a failed punt, what's the easiest way out with the least drama?

There is possibly another explanation.
10 or so years ago I was placed on a medication to deal with a pretty awful time. It levelled out my mood as I was spiralling into depression badly. Side effect was it was REALLY REALLY hard to ejaculate. I still got horny etc but sometimes it just wasn't happening despite the fact I would be hard as hell, which was even more frustrating. It was a lottery too as some days I could cum but others I just had to give up. Once I felt a small orgasm but there was no ejaculate. It was weird. I couldn't wait to get off that shit...

I've cried numerous times because customer couldn't cum in time. But I think my case is bit rare.. most of girls would be just annoyed but cry or upset.

Hey don't be so hard in yourself. If a guy can't cum it could be anything. Chemistry is a delicate thing. You might remind him if something he wants to avoid, or something entirely unrelated to who or how you look, etc.
Or maybe he's old and his nuts are drying up.

Can't blame people for not wanting the shitter vaccine.
And you ain't getting your immunity for Astra even if you get it shot today. Need to wait 3 months before your second dose. and still less immunity.
I'm six weeks to the day before my second AZ dose. To overcome what vitamin said above, after that I am going to get in the queue for a moderna or pfizer single dose top up. My immune system will be killing it after that. :D What do you think of my strategy?

May not be a problem if not many people do what you're doing, but think about it: you're taking up enough vaccine for 3 people, to get presumably better protection that hasn't been scientifically tested. Maybe it doesn't do nothing having all 3 in you, but the vaccine doses are gone.

There will be a surplus of phizer and moderna to more than cover the whole population by the time I will be eligible for them too. It has been scientifically tested that the mrna vaccines give higher protection. My recommendations if taken up by everyone would mean immediate protection now (AZ) and an even stronger resistant population later.

That's what I'm thinking. I've been waiting for Pfizer but I can't get an appointment for like 90 days so I'm thinking juat go AZ now to at least get some protection, am worried being vaccinated is going to be a prerequisite for a lot of stuff in the future and there'll be an even bigger rush, and thus longer waiting times, if that happens.

There was a guy who had 4 jabs of the vaccine while other people are still waiting for their first jab. I wonder how he could receive 4 injections. He wanted to get the maximum protection. It's like putting 2 condoms on his little brother which is not advisable. It would be interesting if he contracted the virus after having 4 shots. There was a nurse who was fully vaccinated and was wearing full protection at the hospital and still contracted the virus. It just shows you can still be infected even if you have both jabs.

That is interesting, I didn't know someone had already adopted my plan. I'm also aiming for four jabs. (2 AZ then 2 Pfizer) I've only had one AZ, I only qualified for that so far. The report says you get ten times the antibody response that way. Get down! :cool2:

Yes Gladys should have cracked down on the virus immediately when it started in the eastern suburbs rather than wait for it to move to the south west and other areas. Now it's all out of control and we're all paying the price for her slow action in tackling this virus.

NSW Gov wanted to demonstrate how good NSW was to control the virus. The "gold standard"... So they can say "see, you don't have to shut everything down to control it", looking straight at Victoria. Well it didn't work did it? Completely blew up in their faces!

On hindsight everything is easy… when Dan locked Victoria everyone jumped on him as Dictator… if Gladys had acted early there would be things said about her as well… We all wanted borders opened and we all made noise about fellow countrymen, women and mostly international students being locked out…imagine if Scotty was to open boarders and restore flights close to per pandemic…. A friend sent me a link to a video title "A FINAL WARNING TO HUMANITY FROM FORMER PFIZER CHIEF SCIENTIST MICHAEL YEADON". The video is on bitchute. Anyway, after watching the video I thought about what the scientist was saying and will i be ever going back to punting. especially i pay in cash when i punt so my other half does not know where I have been. I am not going say anything else. It's up to you to watch it if you like.
https://www.bitchute.com/video/qRM53leSNftt/
at about 7 min and I quote
"This myth of an asymptomatic transmission, which simply not true. Which I've mentioned earlier. In order to transmit a virus, to be good efficient source of infection. You have to have a lot of virus, and if you have a lot of virus in you, the virus is attacking you, and you are fighting back. That process produces symptoms inevitably. It's not just occasionally. IT MUST ALWAYS HAPPEN."
This is simply not true.
HIV lays dormant in someone for decades before it turns into full blown aids. They're infectious.
Papillomavirus is often dormant in males and they don't even realise they have it (no symptoms). Then transmit it to Females during sex.
Hepatitis C Chronic, contagious, no symptoms.
Herpes, can be transmitted without sores showing (signs) or feeling if itchiness (symptoms)
(Last two eg, of course is following the first round of getting sick. But it goes to show that you can have a viral load, be infectious but not be symptomatic)
And that's just the list of STDS viruses.
Respiratory viruses like all viruses in itself doesn't cause signs and symptoms. It's the damaged cells and the body's response that cause the signs/symptoms. (coughing sneezing running nose, mucus, failing liver, no immune system.)
how contageous you are depends
on the virual load you need to be infectious.
since the virus starts to replicate itself the moment you get infected. The viral load increase from day 1. So does the virus carried in the breathing touching saliva.
Since viral load is small to start and slowly ramp up.
When you're infectious is usually correlated to the vial load needed to infect someone. If a large quantity is required. Then you may not be infectious until you become symptomatic. But if only a tiny amount is required, you may be infectious well before you realise you caught something.
This is overly simplified.
But if what this guy saying is true that it ALWAYS needs a lot of virus. Then what's R0?
Some virus are simply more easily transmitted vs others where you need a decent amount to be infected.

Yet they still get grants 1000pw from gov. i seen a story video of a trademen how he cant live with losing 3k pw with his anger and say he cant feed the family because of lockdown. Their nice houses and BMWs probably soak up all their earnings and they have little in liquid savings. As we've previously seen, people will line up for freebies from the government because they are "entitled" to it, not because they need it.

Well it is their fault for not having emergency savings. Yes, they are entitled and should be happy with 1k pw grant while others only get 325-500 only yet their wage is still way than them and still manageable with that spending even with less food on table.

I reckon the virus "spilling over" into the Western suburbs is going to cause the numbers to spike up a lot now because socio-economic factors would've caused a lot of existing infections in those areas to go undetected.
I think the Gov needs to do some things to alleviate those socio-economic problems in order to give those people the incentive to come forward for testing. For example, exemption from being pursued for immigration breaches if they get tested and are found positive. They need to get that message out to those communities effectively as well.
Or another thing they can do is to increase or focus the government aid on those that come forward to get tested and are found to be positive. Not just handouts to the general population like it is being done now. It's all about incentivising people to do the right thing.
In short, I think to get ahead of the virus, we need to first get over the "human" or socio-economic hurdles.

There is a $1500 disaster payment to those required to self isolate or quarantine for 14 days, but only if you don't have any personal, sick or other leave accumulated. If you get any wages, salary or any other payments you're also out of luck.
So if you have 2 weeks annual leave left, you've just blown it. Nice!
Remember, if you check in, make sure you check out to limit your liability. Your annual leave could be on the line.

On the construction industry whinging...
Many of those working in the construction industry (be it employed or a sole trader) live in nice houses, have the very best and most expensive utes available (the Mrs probably only works part time or not even at all and has a Land Rover, Jeep or Jaguar SUV to drop the kids off to school), and live a fairly good middle-upper class lifestyle - most of which is no doubt purchased/funded using some form of leverage.
If you are struggling to pay the mortgage, car lease/loan, or any other form of personal leverage you've taken out to fund your abundant lifestyle - call your financial institution and work out a payment plan (delay payments until work starts back up again). Same deal for when it comes to paying the rent on any commercial office space you might occupy - speak to your landlord.

Have to agree that alot (not all) of the tradies are only whinging cause they're mortgaged to the eyeballs and even with alot of the ones I know the wives don't work (but they're on the books for tax purposes).
I feel sorry for all the casuals in the hospitality and retail industry as they have no annual leave, sickies or long service to fall back on. Some haven't got any savings either, they live a pay to pay week.

GOVERNMENT SYSTEMS IN PLACE
Due to the current financial situation caused by the Corona Virus and slowdown in the economy, the Government has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 50 years of age and above on early, mandatory retirement, thus creating jobs and reducing unemployment.
This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).
Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to the Government to be considered for the SHAFT program (Special Help After Forced Termination).
Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (System Covering Retired-Early Workers).
A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as the Government deems appropriate.
Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependents & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).
Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by the Government.
Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. The Government has always prided themselves on the amount of SHIT they give our citizens.
Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your TD, who has been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.
Sincerely,

What is your source for them getting 1000pw while at best others in the same boat are only getting $750pw? That doesn't pass any kind of test, pub or otherwise.
They said it on press conferences or you can call nsw service. They get 1000 grant pw for tradies compare to others get max 600. they avoided the liquid asset test. How lucky is that. I mean so everyone get the benefit for those who lost in lockdown. you can imagine being in asian or other western countries they don’t get any support or they just get pantries only. Their situation is far much worst than us. We should be lucky. Though i still hate the typical high salary but still complains, i myself earning 60k. I manage to spend and save, i always think for the worst in future that way i wont go homeless. I got mortgage too lucky i bought it 8yrs ago which im paying less than renting.

sorry bro. i thought all tradies included which nothing specific mentioned. On other note if you really struggling you could apply for the grant. That’s the risk having to go on your own with ABN paying too much tax, i was on uber 3yrs ago i felt that, pay my tax every 3months. Though you could earn extra side cash doing private jobs.
I work in hospitality my support is 600pw from the gov. 250 goes to my mortgage then 200 on food pw. still bit left over but hey i’m not working just relax stay home & safe, reboosting my energy for comingback to work after lockdown & spend for a nice massage

I don’t understand how they complain so much. Construction industry is the highest paid job in australia earning about min 80-150k. also with the private cash job. Yet they still get grants 1000pw from gov. i seen a story video of a trademen how he cant live with losing 3k pw with his anger and say he cant feed the family because of lockdown. Yet, im sure those kind of people have nice houses and expensive cars the typical bmw, merc. im sure they have enough saving if it werent for those assets.
They maybe be paid a lot. But according to a lot of DR's I know their working careers are quiet short due to injuries and back issues.
I mean most of the people on constructions sites are 40 and less. % wise not proportional amount working over the age of 45

That may be true, but it's also I think because their income stream is not really steady even in good times. It's all project based... Once their role on the project is done, that income stream is gone and they have to move to the next one. Definitely not the same as sitting behind a desk all year taking the same annual salary.

True. But let’s not forget the overall pay for them is way better than an average pay. Once they receive that pay they’ll spend it without thinking. They thought that sort of pay will come like a flowing river. It’s game over when time like this happens with little or no saving left for themselves. At least they should appreciate with having food and shelter, unless he is a gambler lol

Sorry but you don't know what your talking about, people are losing their livelihoods and you think it's amusing.. suka02, there is no special division for tradies to get 1000pw grants compared to any other worker who only gets $750pw.
People are already sick of their wingeing about losing two weeks work when many others in the economy have lost months and months and months of work. It wouldn't wear politically that they would get privileged extra financial support, especially when they have suffered the least, in fact suffered not at all in nsw up to this point. I don't know where you got your information from. Provide a link to it if you can.

You get a lot of variation in the construction industry.
If you are working on a big project and on a unionised work site then yes you have good pay and great conditions and benefits, and so you should. The Union is Strength.
But if you are working on a small non unionised site or for a dodgy builder or sub contractor then that's a different story.

If transmission could happen in the MCG Stadium in Melbourne, there is no reason why it won’t cause transmission in the CBD protests today. Likely a good proportion of the protesters are living in the city or city fringe, not good news for those brothers and girls living in the city areas. Haymarket has already been named as hotspot for increased testing and this protest will only add to the gravity of situation there. Let’s hope that none of the protesters is a positive case.

Problem is, there's little scientific evidence that masks (the blue surgical ones) protect against the virus. Maybe they prevent some droplet spread but "fleeting contact" seems to indicate that the virus doesn't need droplets to do damage.
The average size of the virus is 100th the size of the filtration specification. You need a minimum of a N95 spec to be of any use. It's a bit like hurling marbles at a scaffold clad building expecting the scaff to stop them, fat chance.

I put that down to naivete on the part of the authorities. I mean, these are people who will go to a mass protest during an outbreak in the middle of a pandemic. Do you seriously think that they will go and get tested for COVID?

I don't disagree with you but it would be very easy for the Govt to spike up the nastiness of protests to ensure there was some "infection fallout". They didn't do that after Melbourne which is a credit to the reporting authorities.
They probably won't get tested and therein lies the dilemma. Would you rather have total compliance of a subservient public or just enough independence to voice their opposition, however misplaced it might be.

In this instance, I choose subservience, because the other option to have a free voice etc, is only useful as a foil to stop the governing body from exacting some sort of undeserved benefit out of a situation.
This is an outbreak in the middle of a pandemic. What sort of "undeserved benefit" can the government get out of locking people down? There is none.

Once again I don't disagree, however "free speech" should never be curtailed as long its constructive in it's use.
There is only one tool that society has, stay away from each other until out natural immune response kills it off. Protect those who do not have this immune response and devise therapies that help that immune response. It's up to the individual to realise this and take responsibility for themselves. Some see this as handing over total control to the govt which is undesirable, some feel induced to rely on govt, another undesirable response. Some feel manipulated, social engineering being the intent. Some are simply oblivious to anything until it hits them in the back of head. If we all thought the same, maybe forced to think the same, we are all eventually doomed to a dystopian twilight.
I think the protests are dumb, most protests are dumb: organised by people smart enough to stay in the background and let others get arrested. The protests usually have political intent which the "troops" are too dumb to realise.

Bro, all your posts are full of self-contradictions, passive aggressive intonations, and you have an inclination to stir up controversy when there is none. You are starting to be very predictable in what you post. Maybe blueballs is causing you to overthink everything, or you simply enjoy looking for and imagining there is a dagger hidden in every shadow.
No, I completely disagree, it is not "up to the individual". This is a fight for survival between the virus and the human race. Does the virus have individual thought? Maybe some are "friendly" or lazy viruses that will let you off the hook when you get it? No, they all act in the same way, they are a coherent single entity that will do what it takes, as efficiently as possible, to win the fight.
In order to beat it, the human race also needs to act as one. That means someone has to be in control, make decisions that others have to follow. This is the only way forward.
Stop overthinking that other human beings will take advantage of the situation to pull a fast one. Stop looking for ways that you can paint your fellow human beings as the enemy because we are all in this fight together whether you like it or not.

GoldfishMan.
I've agreed with you twice now. The retort is a bit overly dramatic but I'll accept it as a passionate response.

Infusing a virus with any degree of malevolence is going a bit far. It simply exists, as do we. Acting as one has never been a feature of the human race. Fortunately, being like of mind has enabled the majority to get to this point of our evolution. Many societies have tried the control path, all have failed and all will fail, even those currently practising this concept.

It turns out that the Brisbane flight attendant that crewed a number of flights actually went to Ballina to pick up a man from Sydney who subsequently turned positive. They drove back to Brisbane and she became positive later (after waiting 8 days to get tested). I'll leave it up to the dear reader to decide what the motivation was there. In this instance a "fast one" would be a mild characterisation. In the meantime, many passengers on 6 flights and a hotel were quarantined along with their close contacts.
People routinely think they can get away with things when it suits them, including politicians.

anything can happen. the less testing we get the less cases. Yesterday was about 93k were tested that resulted to 136 cases. Normally we get result from 20-50k tested about 20-50 cases from the start. So this virus is not easy to track down even if someone is sick untested until it get worst then they admit to hospital.

I think it will go much further than that, but not in its current form. Let's face it, NSW is "different" from any other part of Australia. Cost of living, inequality, both are at the highest in NSW. So the state Gov here has no choice but to act accordingly. They have to balance people's livelihoods with saving lives.
Gladys is already exploring changing the lockdown into "lockdown one area and Jerry everyone else live with minimal restrictions". I don't even know what to call it.
It's all that talk about putting a "ring of steel" around the West and Southwest areas, with the help of the military.

It's great that the COVID Testing numbers hit six figures - kudos to the community for coming out in droves. The negative unfortunately is that this increased testing is exposing more and more infections, albeit the majority are from the well known & publicised 'hot spots'
When we do start to come out of lockdown, things will move slowly and in different phases. I think there will be very strict social distancing restrictions which will remain in play until at least the end of 2021, if not beyond. Probably at least until the vaccination rate goes up. You can bet that the government will use the increased testing numbers of recent days as 'marketing ploy' to get people out & getting jabs in arms soon enough - "NSW you've been so great in your response to get tested so we can track & trace this virus... now lets crush it altogether by all getting vaccinated".
As for the immediate future of our beloved 'hobby', 'lifestyle' - however we want to term it...
Brothels and Massage Parlours will be the absolute last of the last on the list to re-open (same with the small underground bar, nightclub, stripclub, etc scene that exists in many parts of the city & inner west). It won't be like last time where the lines were blurred between 'remedial massage parlour' (which opened up pretty much straight away and still were able to offer part two and beyond) and 'brothel' / 'erotic massage parlour' (both licensed the same way - and were about 2-3 weeks behind in re-opening last time from memory).
Unfortunately I think a lot of our favourite WLs/MLs live in the current 'on fire' areas (I'm basing this off the fact that I know a handful of my favourites do). Movement in and out of those areas is just too risky at the moment, and will remain so for sometime. Gladys, Kerry, Brad & Mick would be quite well aware of this too.

Epidemiologists /tracers et al would even based on low testing rates/infections extrapolate using known data. Modelling.
But hats off yes to all those who continue to offer up their sinus for testing.
Remember you’re either with the virus or with humanity … wish I could say that in a Smokey the Bear kinda voice

No one is revealing the data but the large testing numbers is in no small part due to QR check in's generated by major retailers. If you've been to an exposure site in the prior 4 days as a casual contact you're required to do another test.
No small wonder the numbers are up with capacity approaching limits. Who'd thought!

It would be hard for the authorities to argue that vaccination of inbound travellers is enough to allow them in. Particularly when everywhere you look, the concensus is that vaccination does not prevent transmission of the virus, it merely makes the disease less serious. A vaccinated traveller could be as big a risk of carrying the virus into Australia as an unvaccinated one. And as long as restrictions remain for inbound travel, outbound travel for Aussies will continue to be suppressed.
Based on the above, I think the key to opening borders is the same as the ending of lockdown: vaccination of the majority population of Australia.
That, however, still depends on the outcome of the "experiment" currently being conducted in the UK.

I’m always optimistic, let’s say everyone do the right thing and no more ugly protesting. If the case numbers starting to head south and the number of cases out in the community while infectious also decreasing. After two weeks, if the cases down to 10’s or 20’s and out and about infectious number down to 5 or zero, then gradual easing of lockdown and restrictions could started to happen ?

Below is a link to the CDC in the US. This particular brief is about Covid transmission. I won't attempt to summarise (I'm not qualified) but would suggest a good read and see how others might regard the evidence. It's a lot of stuff to read so skipping to the "Conclusions" may help. I don't doubt that our Public Health will be looking at this and other evidence to formulate policy.

Sincerely,
E.V.I.L.

My estimate at the start of lockdown was the start of September.
I still think that will be the case.
We won't be anywhere near zero by then, but the government will start opening up things anyway.
As for international travel, I will stick with at least mid 2022.
Starting next year they will start letting in people who are important for specific sectors of the economy in limited numbers and with strict conditions.
A return to international travel in and out of the country at pre-covid levels is still years away.

I agree with Rooter’s observation and prediction that shops will be allowed to open in September. WL or ML works on a one to one basis at a time and a super-spreading event (I reckon that super-spreading event is where one positive infecting many at one time) is not likely in shop’s setting. Moreover there hasn’t been any outbreak occurred in the shop’s setting since the start of the pandemic. Super-spreading events are more likely in pubs, restaurants particularly indoor ones, office, construction sites etc, if these businesses can reopen after the restrictions are partially lifted with the gradual reduction in cases and high testing rates, shops will be allowed to reopen after lobbying by the sex industry groups. The State Government and the Police certainly understand the sex industry is a necessary evil to limit the number of sex offences and to maintain public orders. There is high chance for the sex industry to go back to normal in September so the best thing for brothers and girls to do at the moment is get vaccinated with either AZ or Pfizer instead of engaging in risk-taking “private” ventures. Case number seems to have stabilized and hopefully will be reduced soon. The only concern is the protests last Saturday which maybe a super-spreading event.

You maybe right that sex industry maybe the last to open but it could still be September depending on the case numbers. It is still too early to say the current outbreak can’t be controlled to a level comfortable to the State Govt to reopen most of the activities in September. 9-10 more weeks to go till end of September. The hard lockdown only started 2 weeks ago.

I’d like to think your theory is solid
Chatting with a WL yesterday . She’s not in Sydney at the moment. Though was discussing some of her friends who are or, have been working private out of apartments in Sydney
One at least recently had contracted covid and despite a positive test continued to work.
So I’m uncertain why you would think that shops will get the green light based on 1-1 basis at a time. It’s close contact . Big no no
And going to be a long time before enough of the population vaccinated too allow your scenario to unfold even the argument the sex ind will lobby and govt police see it is a necessary evil re: sex offences cannot see having much weight or merit
Definitely avoid risky behaviours, follow health orders, get vaccinated
Sure going to a shop may not qualify a as a super spreader event , though 5-10 women in a shop per day with 10 customers each may qualify as just as able and likely to spread from that one contact.
And TBH shops themselves Do not well practice exacting hygiene standards at the best of times and I certainly see no pretence of deep cleaning pre Covid let alone since lockdowns ceased last year .
What was the length of shop closures last year ? 5 months ?
It’ll be a while and shops will be the last too open.

Big no no

I didn’t say it was a shop and perhaps the woman contracted it from a punter who may or may not have known . All fucked up

Another 56 'infectious while in the community' cases today. That number has been trending at 40+ per day for the past week or so now. All of which means that the overall numbers will also continue to trend higher until we bring this particular number down. This is most certainly not a stabilisation of case numbers. Far from it.
Our 'masters' at State Parliament want this number to be zero (or at least close to it) for a minimum two weeks straight before they start to even consider easing restrictions. This is going to be impossible in the short-medium term, unless an absolute miracle happens.
Jabs into arms is seemingly the only way out here? Yes - they want us all vaccinated for some reason, even though the vaccine won't prevent you from potential serious illness or side-effects of COVID depending on the quality of your underlying health.
If there is any truth to that WL continuing to work privately despite a positive COVID test - we are doomed ! We still have in excess of 100 cases which still haven't been traced/linked back to known clusters/outbreaks?
Lets not beat around the bush here either - I'm sure the majority of shops along with the WLs and MLs never actually stopped operating late last month when they were supposed to. Even if business in terms of clientele coming through the door is now down to a trickle they are still going full steam ahead, albeit 'adjusted to the circumstances'.
Those that know their way through the system can get a booking with any of their favorite girls. Some punters could even make some potential new discoveries if they were adventurous enough... I'm sure that any private operation would still take 10 clients a day if the WeChat, Line or conventional SMS messages came through.
Those that are taking the risks and making visits to apartments, it's only going to take one unhappy or disgruntled neighbour, or building manager who suspects something untoward, to put a call into Crime Stoppers.
All this adds food for thought to the notion that we won't be getting out of lockdown any time soon.

I can't recall seeing any PHO that treat brothels differently to other businesses that are normally open to public invitation!

I'm missing punting as much as the next guy here but let's be realistic. I really don't see how brothels and massage parlours (including legit ones) can reopen as long as there are still local cases popping up. With these places it's not about the number of people present, the issue is the almost guaranteed likelihood of transmission. If a punter or a WL/ML has it, that transaction is enough to guarantee transmission from one to the other. It's the nature of the contact that is the problem here. I can't think of any other activity that has an equivalent likelihood of transmission... can you?
Maybe so but I have accomplished alot more than you will ever so pull your head in they are looking for wood..........
Yep your the best
I was just thinking, do you reckon a ML or wl will come live with you during lockdown if the price is right? Get both of you to do a test. If negative t h en .....

Hmmmm... While the proposition sounds intriguing, I have a feeling this will have its own range of issues. But I think once I read a similar news where a guy let two girls stay rent free in return of sex.

Yeah, need to do tests. COVID test going into the arrangement, pregnancy test after it.

Not only that but a bunch of people extremely reluctant to 'fess up if a case emerged. This alone might be enough to keep them closed for longer. Not so much massage shops as they are "supposed" to be no different to beauty salons, hairdressers and nail shops that women seem to spend an inordinate amount of time in.
