Purely for fun and not to be included in any Gov policy debate or Vaccine conspiracies.. , if you were a betting man and the signs are there that we are heading for something resembling normality by Mid Oct, what date would you say we have shops re-opening.. ?
My 2 cents worth...
Nov 5th... Massage Shops providing Legit and Non Legit services... (Just after the Melbourne Cup)
Nov 29th ... Full service shops allowed..

Small one on one beauty services / hair cuts and the like may well be grouped together and free to operate earlier, I reckon I'd put my money on 3rd week in October (I'm an optimist, right!).

"Shops": I'd give two answers, one for massage, another for brothels/FS...
I'm calling early December for hospitality and health services like massage. It won't be the first thing to reopen, since the state government will try to drip feed back our freedoms as long as they can, because they know our inadequate public health system is going to be overwhelmed.
FS/brothels: remember in 2020 they almost didn't reopen (were somehow left out of the reopening schedule)? Apparently took some heavy back-room negotiation to get them to reopen at all (despite little or no actual evidence of sex work being a significant public health risk).
I'm going to be a pessimist and say they won't reopen, we're going to see the defacto re-illegalization of sex work using the pandemic and public health orders as the excuse. Don't underestimate the forces across the political spectrum -- from the religious right to the feminist left -- that see prostitution as a social scourge.

I've been thinking that for a while now. There could be quite a number of self-righteous public servants that haunt the back rooms that might like an opportunity to act out their control fetish.
Make no mistake, the desire to impose a "firm" hand on the public comes from public servants rather than politicians. They've been allowed the power to determine how we live on a day to day basis even though they are unelected and, up until last year, virtually anonymous. They won't let it go easily.
Plan is once 80% is vaxxed, can travel to regional nsw for your fix.

The announcement regarding 18th October has left out brothels and massage parlour (they have been mentioned in restrictions previously) which suggests they will be held back longer. I doubt they will be permanently shut down but they will be last cabs off the ranks I imagine, and so workers will need to be imaginative to get clients. In Rydalmere for example there is the hairdresser with massage rooms out the back. They could open the hairdresser and sneak clients out the back. Shops might start doing impromptu nail salons (a couple of tables if room permits), men get mani/pedis as well.
Beautician seems to be left off the list also, so no waxing (and sneaky tug) as a front to be had there I don't think.

I'd be more concerned about workers and their pimps having access to my identity: blackmail/extortion etc.
There's no risk of that with a QR check-in, the venue never handles your details directly.
Am I worried about the government knowing I see prostitutes? It's not an illegal activity, and they already basically know from my SSHC checks (although that's medical information so highly privileged).

I am actually. Imagine taking the phone call at home. 'Hello sir, as a close contact at shop x, you and your family now need to...'
Quelle horreur. I'd started my engines, ready for Oct 18.
Thinking it through, though, the risk is mitigated by you, the girl and all employees being vaxxed. Wear a mask. Drown your hands and hers in cleanser. The shop and the girls will be very conscious of infection control. Your chances are probably higher catching the train with some bozo.
Worst comes to worst, have the name of a retail shop close to the ML ready to go in your head for any awkward questions.

It's unlikely that contact tracing will be done at that level. QR check in's are now being used for generating lists of people to go for testing. QR check in's have hardly ever resulted in cases. KC admitted that retail is a very low risk and "less than a handful" have been found. QR codes never worked at a macro level, 20 or so cases it worked fine, once it got past 50 it becomes useless.
It will be used for surveillance testing. If an area has a few cases they will generate lists from high value retail, supermarkets, malls etc. in order to capture 1) any stray cases (unlikely) 2) track unvaccinated people, the main goal.
The most that will happen is you'll have to go for a test, if found positive you will have to isolate. You could have got it from a hundred different places, no one will ever know as exposure sites are no longer published.

Anyone who has used the Service NSW App to check-in can see for yourself. The history of where you visited is listed. So both your family and Service NSW has that info for contact tracing in the event 1 guy out of the 100 guys on that day who visited the ML or WL is positive.
Hell even your partner can see if they launch the Service NSW app on your phone. So better keep the phone locked up.
My bet is on the private market growing exponentially once restrictions are eased.

Did anyone visit a shop (massage or fs) prior to this lockdown that was using the QR code check in.
Couple of places that I went to had a book where the client had to write their name, phone no. and time which obviously was being done to comply with regulations at the time. No checkups to verify that what was written in the book was the clients real name or number.
I'm thinking that after this lockdown licenced shops will have to comply and have QR code check ins. Will probably be a lot of spot checks to make sure businesses are doing the right thing.

Yeah I think the priv market will boom. Unfortunatley due to supply and demand, private prices have gone up significantly since COVID began.
Once more internationals and students are allowed back in, I hope the prices stabilise. Lot's of lazy private WLs charging a fortune for mediocre services at the moment.
Back in 2019 I could get a hot South American priv WL for $200-$250/hour. It's closer to $400/hour now.

Or could the shop owners moved away from traditional bricks and mortar shop fronts and go apartment style in more private settings??

I can see councils including apartment and the police even getting more calls about a consistent flow of strange men going into a private apartment or house and strange loud noises are constantly coming from it. Remember most of these ML or WL do not own the apartment or house, they rent. So it would be interesting to see what happens to the private market next

The idea of covid spreading is due to the unvaccinated seems to be popular one and gives the vaccinated the opportunity to heap blame on someone else. Unfortunately this mindset is proving to be erroneous, simple logic can demonstrate this. We only need to see a surge in cases in a well vaccinated area to completely dispel this idea.
Although the promise of "no more lockdowns when at 80%" has been made, GB has indicated it is possible to have local lockdowns of LGA's, suburbs, even businesses if cases rise. The Doherty model supports this possibility.

You're entitled to your opinion, as am I, whatever you imagine it to be. Usually, responses like this indicate a realisation of the reality but a reluctance to accept it. It offends your beliefs and causes internal conflict that results in verbal abuse and irrational accusations.
Unfortunately when your opinion disregards facts and ignores evidence and becomes driven by emotion, it loses credibility. When this happens the only people who will agree with you are those of a similar mindset that increasingly become the rationally impoverished. If you become conducive to considering facts and evidence you might be able to reach a rational viewpoint, otherwise you bring nothing of value to the conversation.

I agree with that. The world is not binary with only the good guys and the bad guys.
You can be vaccinated and recognise it can better protect you than nothing but also ask yourself if all this unvaccinated blaming is justified. This really divides the population. Will we be supposed to ask our friends if they are vaccinated before inviting them home?
Gladys said herself she wouldn't want to be near an unvaccinated! Is it really going to help saying that? I don't expect a politic to express personal opinion like that and this won't convince the unvaccinated to get vaccinated, quite the opposite I would say.

He's playing mind games with you, bro. Don't fall for it. Just because he says he is not an anti-vaxxer does not make him not one. He says "I'm not an anti-vaxxer.... BTW, read these 10 articles that just so happen to cast doubt on vaccination", you make up your mind what he is. And does he ever post anything in support of the opposite? Nope... His views are as biased as they come.
Besides, we call him an anti-vaxxer, but that doesn't mean that's the only thing he is. I'd say a more "complete" label for him would be anti-government (or if you prefer, shit-stirrer). That would explain a lot of it. Gov wants me to vax? No. Gov wants to QR code me? No. Lockdowns? No. Character assassination of public health officials? Yes. The list goes on. He's certainly not a punter as far as I know. Never seen him post a thing about girls.
RE your point about brothels being left out of reopening plans, yeah I'll admit I'm hurting from that just like any other punter, BUT, we need to look at it strictly from a public health perspective without being biased by what we want, politics or ideology. They said all those venues can reopen, but masks are still mandatory in all of them at all times. That point alone completely excludes brothels because everybody knows you can't possibly keep a mask on doing the "activities" you do in a brothel.

Looks like I’m getting a return (pun intended) for my pineapples come October 18! 🤣
It’s officially announced that 80% vaccination target is when massage shops will reopen.

It's still not clear if they only mean regular massage shops or whether R&T would technically be allowed too?

Previously, regulations refer to venues offering "sexual services" as the criteria, whether "licenced" or not.
"Licenced RnT" are mostly shops that have brothel licences, but dont offer FS. 227 Broadway is one such shop, there are probably a couple of others.
