Hiya Cmont, I think it the same experience for all of us when trying new places in Newcastle. Totally agree Joe, it is very difficult to find exactly what you want in the area, or perhaps its just me and I am getting pickier. I am seriously considering giving up the local punt and heading to Sydney once a month.

Yes pre and post covid services are certainly different, as due to lack of customers many providers shut thier doors and moved to the city. Recently however a few Sydney owners have seen Newcastle as an underserviced market and have moved into the area so things will soon be on the up and up.

In the meantime I am taking the oportunity to revisit some of the shops I havn't been to in years, and am mostly enjoying it.

The one I call Jamanji on brunker road is on my hit list (it used to owned by Mae and was very good) if I can find a time when the coffee shop next to it is not overflowing, lol.

I would say the best I have been to in the last 6 month are saben? (near footy stadium) and the Angel group (maitland, east maitland, raymond terrace and warners bay). None offer exactly what I want but are good at what they do provide.
