View Full Version : General talk Christmas present from Mamasan

I was at a small shop with no web presence today. Because I was 30 minutes early Mamasan asked me to go to a bottle shop with her down the road to help her carry two boxes of red wine back. I think she spent more than $400 on the wine. She told me they are for the regular customers and the rest to use on the Christmas Dinner with all the girls in a seafood restaurant.
When I when home after my business was done she gave me a bottle but I didn't take it. And she told me I had to come to join their Christmas dinner this Saturday night. I would be the only male among all the WLs who work in the shop. Don't think I'll enjoy the prospect.
Such generosity in a small shop.

Red wine. With seafood....?.... mate grab a good Sav Blanc or Verdelho....the hangover won't be so severe
Thanks for the advice. I'm a non-drinker and not into seafood either.

I'd go with white wines or even champagne if it's a Chinese seafood restaurant (they tend to be more salty).
Reds don't go very well with seafood, that's for sure.

Mate you want a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, it’s the white wine you drink when you have no idea about wine.
Or go a Pinot Grigio/Gris (same grape but Grigio is Italian style while Gris is French) if you want to keep it light and fruity. Also can’t go wrong with a nice Chardonnay from either Tasmania or Margaret river although they get a bit pricey. Also worth trying an Eden Valley Reisling (they are a dry style).
In saying all that if they are young girls, then go for the Prosecco and you should be right.

Did you accept her invitation? If yes, how was it? Have fun drinking and laughing with the WLs? Take anyone home?

No I didn't go. It's odd to be the only male in the dinner.

If it was an Asian shop the Mamasan and girls prefer Reds. There is a popular shop that also does a Christmas dinner for the girls, usually take away to the shop and then onto the casino.

Very nice of you to help her out, and good call on not going to the dinner.
