In the song "I Believe" the lyrics go:
"Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
or touch a leaf,
or see the sky,
then I know why
I believe."
I was just wondering, don't you think this ***t is setting the bar of his critical judgement a little bit too low?
I mean, don't you think he could do with a crash course in cosmology and evolutionary biology or something first and get back to us on this?

It is just that that songwriter is so f**king credulous.
And after 768 sensible / semi-sensible posts, it is a little bit of indulgence.

Sextus, you need to get yourself blown, or laid, or jerked off ... and QUICK!
There are still places open at this time.
You are losing the plot bro!

Igloo, he is just representative of all the people that listen to the song and go, "yes, yes!"

Sextus bro,
You do know, I hope, that the corner stone of selling records in US - especially country - is that they appeal to the target audience.
Religion is a big thing, especially in the mid-west were the majority of people listen to country music.
So if you want to sell albums, you need to include God to the equation.
And that is what Leann has done.
For all I know, she (not he, or I am sadly mistaken) might be a believer, but singing the song is no proof of that.

This is an open and free forum and thats a good thing and a real strength of this forum compared to other ones which have much more rigid rules and structures.
I certainly would not like to see that change.
We should keep in mind though that this is a forum about punting and WLs and MLs. So we should be keeping within the parameters and purpose of this forum.
In the last week alone there have been posts on gambling, stock markets, foreign exchange etc and now this one by Sextus on Christian music - wtf ???
Lets stay on topic guys. There are plenty of other forums where we can discuss all these issues.
There is already enough clutter on this forum from advertisers, spammers etc.
Do we really need more irrelevant, off topic threads??

Nah, General Talk section is for General Talk, be it punting talks or non-punting talks, so long as they're conducted in a friendly manner, all are welcome.

Did Jesus marry Mary Magdelane, as Scorcese speculated?
(Ok, that is the sex bit, that now qualifies this thread to the forum.)
All I wanted them to do was to set the burden of proof just a teensy little bit higher than looking at the f**king sky or touching a frickin' leaf!
(I have appreciated the indulgence of a few of the fellas here and I won't mind if the thread dies at any moment now, and I'll get back to normal programming - like discussing, er, wine.)

Oh so Jesus may have fallen in love and married a WL?
There's hope for me yet!

Aren't they related? Wine, women, song? Sextus might as well call himself Bacchus :)
The real question is, based on the writer of this Christian music being a woman... Would you do her?

LW, you are right about that, very perceptive - but it was only just over half a bottle of irritation that made me start this f**king thread.
Max Impact has made me realise something rather amazing though - yes, there is a good chance that Jesus married a WL after persuading her to get her out of the game. What a precedent! And even, yes - an endorsement.

I feel much better already now Jellyshots, after your good, healthy pagan suggestion. A garden of Earthly delights. Here, for example, is a typical Saturday night at Norman Lindsay's place. Who wouldn't want to attend one of his fantastic shindigs? Midgets and all!
(Ps. We are all pretty grounded on this forum. which is why I think I can safely raise a little bit of religious impatience.)

I never did get an invite to Norman Lindsay's place.
May be we can start one of our own on this forum.
