Hey folks,
A while back I was recommended the book "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham, who is a guru in value investing.
Warren Buffet wrote the forward to my version of the book. Basically, its like a bible for fundamental investors.
I'm sure many of you guys would know and have read the book.
A lot of it was about discipline and focusing on the accounting fundamentals, and not going to gut feel or hype (speculation).
Discipline also applies to punting, in order for us to get our success rate up. The attributes of the ladies is the fundamentals we should focus on.
A value investor would pour over the accounting reports before investing.
We scan through all the after reports on this forum before punting. In some ways we are intelligent punters.

TRUE. Fundamental analysis is superior to any other in the investment world. Speculation and sometimes technical analysis can't capture the fundamental value of a company.
That said, to do a real fundamental analysis on a WL is much harder. For one thing, a public company is far more transparent than a WL will ever be. Just look at the debate about a girl's age, that can already make in dent in the fundamentals. Also, ARs are guides, but has it's flaws. Another punter's taste can be different from another and one great experience might not translate to great every single time. That's why we write YMMV.
To you point, an intelligent punter will read an AR. But the result also often depends on lucky and a little leap of faith.

There is no Intelligent Punter.
If he is that Intelligent he won't be blowing $300 for 60 minutes of paid, mechanical and uninspired sex.
He would find ways to have a free sex and multiply his $300 to $3,000.
my experience is that reading ARs rarely makes us more intelligent, but reading between the lines of girl's descriptions in a roster can go a long way.
One discipline I've developed is to walk away after seeing 2-3 mediocre girls in a lineup.
Most punters can relate to this situation: feeling horny and having some free time and extra cash, going out to a shop to have a good time, yet despite the fantastic descriptions in the roster, none of the girls available look exactly what you wanted. Now your cool head says leave now, but your dick made you pick one that "might' work out.
This lack of strong wills to walk out accounted for over half of the regrettable punts I had in the past.

Are you saying if someone chooses to punt they are by default not intelligent? LMAO

thanks for all the comments.
Just like investing, there's always going to be a bit of luck involved. But staying disciplined always pays off.
Having a rules based approach to punting can help minimise bad punts and save your money in the long run.

That's a bit harsh. I'd like to think of it as most guys are intelligent until they punt. For that X hours, they're a bit stupid, then they go back to being intelligent.

Google the YouTube podcast with Mark Bouris one of Australias most successful businesmen
He categorically states he can't pick stocks, they will go down in price as soon as he makes the purchase
If he can't ever get it right, I'm staying away from individually picking shares too
Shares in superannuation is fine though
