Weekend Roundup: Social Media - Yay or Nay?

In the interest of bringing new topics to the forum, I'm wonder what kind of social media do you guys use? What about the MLs/WLs?

For me, I use different platforms for different purpose.

- Youtube for creating content, learning, and entertainment
- Twitter/X for news feeds because it's fast
- Instagram for promoting, getting ideas, and friends
- Facebook for family and I also contribute to a travel/points blog

For WLs, I've only seem Instagram, but that's with very limited data points.

For security, don't use Facebook, Twitter-X, Instagram, etc. No one is interested in what I had for breakfast or the size of my latest dump, or, more seriously, needs to know where I am at the moment.

Do use YouTube for learning and entertainment.

WhatsApp, WeChat, Line, and Skype for keeping in touch, both civilian and professional.

I wasn't counting messaging apps as social media. In that case, then I use whatsapp, wechat, iMessage, and FB messenger.

For the WLs, it's mostly wechat.

Yup, I actually don't post on too much about myself on instagram, facebook, and twitter. When I do post, it's usually to promote my content on youtube.

Youtube is still have favorite platform to use because of the value it can provide to the viewers.

I'm also just browsing Youtube now but I don't consider it a social media. I made zero interaction with other people there. Reddit is good too but I'm done with them after the API drama.

Facebook for communicating with friends, and sexy content as above... :)
Youtube for learning how to do almost anything - the shorts are big time wasters, but amusing....
WL's - straight webpage search, then the phone... :)

Had Facebook for years including family photos

Upset when I found all social media platforms mine photos to build facial recognition software
Was horrified and deleted all I could but by then all my photos have been stolen by FB

I’m kind of in the same boat, bouncing between apps depending on mood, but lately I’ve been eyeing TikTok more since short vids seem to pull the most eyes.
