It's mostly young guys that go punting with friends.
It's kind of a social outing for them, maybe after going to a club or pub.
Older guys tend to go punting alone and mainly during the day. A lot of them are married or have a career and so discretion and privacy is important.

Seriously, at your age, I'd say don't. You're too young, no need. Go out, have some REAL relationships, with all the heart thrills and breaks. Punting is just sex, it's BUSINESS, never forget that. Without having some SOLID life foundation, too easy to confuse sex and love, and it becomes too easy to confuse the two. Punting sex becomes all too easy, a simple cash payment for an hour's pleasure. With real sex, and everything that goes with it, that's what life is about. Don't shortchange yourself by taking the easy road... IMHO.

Bottom line: there are societal standards about not paying for sex. Some may be misled by reading here, thinking it's the norm. And it is legal here. But in society in general, it's not done. I'd say it's looked down on by the general populace. Why do shops have back doors? You're not going to win any accolades by discussing your sexual forays in polite society. Sure, in the boys locker room... but around the watercooler in a mixed office... Moral turpitude can be grounds for dismissal. Also for losing a security clearance. The thing is, it's a line. And once crossed, it becomes easier and easier to cross again, and again. My advice has always been, DON'T start. And while some gf's/wives might be understanding, I'm thinking not so many, even if it was past history. Because their thinking will be, if he's done it once...
