Sexually transmitted infections skyrocketed across Europe in 2022 — with reported gonorrhea cases alone nearly doubling.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control expressed “deep concern” with the rising rates, released Thursday as part of the group’s most recent data set.

Syphilis cases rose by 34% between 2021 and 2022, amounting to more than 35,000 cases in the latter year. Chlamydia cases jumped by 16% to more than 216,000.

That's a weird article. First it says:

"The massive surge follows years of rising STI rates in many countries, which was momentarily halted by government guidance for social distancing measures during the COVID-19 pandemic."

Then it goes on about the high YoY increase, comparing what...? The years of the lockdowns 2020/2021, to the year the lockdowns were lifted, 2022.

Like the guy forgot what he just wrote about the effects of the lockdowns and social distancing, and just wants talk about the increase.

So a Murdoch rag, the NY Post reports a story even the Daily Mail wouldn't touch, failing to mention that the main factor was the almost total shutdown due to Covid in the base year. I doubt the same situation prevails in the whole of Europe which stretches from Ireland to Kasakhstan, and Iceland to Albania. Trash journalism for the consumption of the terminally gullible.

So in 2022, there were apparently approx 130,000 diagnosis of std (chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis).
That's about 350 cases a day, seems like a lot.

I wonder what portion is from the sex industry vs generally public.
How many fucks are happening a day.
