Do we know why massage shops close so early?

So I've only recently started going to massage shops instead of brothels and far out they seem to be a much better deal, but they always close at 8! i've been sometimes around 6-7 whenn i finish work and then the girls are at the end of their shift and keen to go home. it seems to be common that all shops close at around 8pm, am i just unlucky that all of them near me close so early whereas brothels close much later?

Because brothels are licensed and most massage shops are not.
Officially massage shops are only providing a therapeutic massage.
The extras is all unofficial.
There is no legitimate reason for a therapeutic massage shop to be open at 2am.
It will be far too obvious that sexual services are being provided if a massage shop is still open at 2am with men walking in and out, and this will attract unwanted attention from councils, neighbours etc.
As long as massage shops are only open normal business hours, councils will generally not bother them and let them carry on their business.
There are a handful of massage shops that have a full brothel licence but they are quite rare.

Massage shops also have a much more "diverse" range of locations that they can open up shop. Simply because a lot of them operate without a license.

(Legal) Brothels don't have this luxury because the venue that they operate from must be licensed for sex work. So a brothel would be at a location that is already all set for late hours business, but a massage place can be at a location that is completely not conducive to longer hours, eg. In a mall or a shop front surrounded by residential.

I also hear for council to approve a brothel, has to jump through many hoops to set up shop. This includes locality, community/neighbour engagement, building compliance, employee checks etc.

That's why (generally) you will see more amenities and generally a higher standard of sanitary than massage shops - once again it does vary from establishment and the council rigidity.

thanks for the answers guys, makes a lot of sense. its a real shame cause i hate going in the middle of the day, especially cause my fave has an entrance right on the main road. if only these girls did privates...
