With a new EPL season just about to kick off, thought I would start a thread. I am keen to hear anyone's insights, particularly from a gambling perspective. Gambling wins for me represent more opportunities to punt, which is why i am happy to post here.

I know this is obvious, but my simple strategy is to just stick with the top teams: City, Arsenal, Liverpool especially when they are playing underperforming sides. Obviously the odds aren't great, so a usual bet for me would be something like Man City to win/over 2.5 goals to be scored in the match.
City went on a streak of 23 undefeated games when claiming the title last season and I backed them every time they didn't play a top side. I also love to bet on Erling Haaland to be anytime goal scorer in a match. Last season he scored 27 from 31 appearances. As I said, no flash odds, but consistent wins.👌

It's not profitable for me yet but I've been working on ideas around dutching the correct score markets on Betfair. EPL provides the most liquidity and your biggest risk are 4+ scorelines, so Man City skewed a bunch of my results last season. I still think there is potential in it, so I keep plugging away at this next season. As an Everton supporter, I have to have something to cheer about. :(

No zero about English football but happy to be in for the punt. Multi any number of legs to about 10/1 odds would be an ideal play for me. Turn a Pineapple into a Monkey 👍

Yeah it's the draw in soccer that fucks you up. It means there are 3 possible outcomes. Most other sports have two possible outcomes.

Think I will wait a couple of rounds to establish some form lines and look at 3 and 4 leg Multis - winner/total goals over/under. A bit like I do with NRL and AFL. I have kept an eye on results for many years in the EPL but it's only been the last couple of years I have followed closely.

All this is sound advice, standard rooter. You are generally getting unders for Spurs anyway. However, I am thinking this year is the moment of truth for Ange Postecoglou and he has a pretty good track record of delivering. Premiership, maybe not, Champions league, my first bet on EPL I think.

This no doubt confirmed with loss to BHA - I only watch them to see how they lose - just like a Parra journey. I think Tag is gone!! They lack an engine room and a great forward.

oh mate, I had 4 nose/half head results go against me yesterday and yes, Munhamek was one of them. That's punting, well, what I knew was punting before I became a member of this forum. A couple of big bets on some short ones kept my head above water. Also saw a couple of future superstar of the turf in Autumn Glow and Growing Empire. Storm Boy came back very solid. Bring on the Spring Carnival!!
