I went to Ginza on a whim without booking. All girls booked out. I remember a similar experience from another post. Wasted my trip to the city.

Don’t expect a line up like the caucasian shops at Ginza.

Yep happened to me also on my first ever visit recently. Had to stroll down to Empire to finally find someone. Not one to make a booking days ahead so not sure if it's viable going forward.

Ginza club never did line up. Ginza Empire does line up and has more girls on roster than Ginza Club

I stumbled into Ginza near central for the first time ever 6 months ago at 2am Friday night. The reception guy said I couldnt get a line up or introductions and I'd have to 'book' a girl by selecting someone from the tablet. I complained, because maybe i don't like the girl, $300 is risky. After a bit of haggling the guy said that if i don't like the girl within a minute, he will give me a refund. So the girl walked in the room, i said hi and walked out straight away. True to his word he gave me my money back.

With all the good places you should book after reading reviews. Give plenty of time to get there and not be like most including myself by only allowing yourself a small window of opportunity to go through the motions. Basically I leave an hour each side to get there and wait. So I allocate three hours for a one hour session.

This was similar to my first experience, in that the girl I wanted to visit was booked out when I messaged the shop the morning of.
When I asked about other girls I had my eye on, they were also booked out.
Learned pretty quickly to book as soon as the roster is released the day before, and to be specific in my messages (girl's name, session length, time I want to book, available times in case she's already booked at that time).
I think it speaks to the shop's popularity if they don't do lineups (and as someone said below, Ginza are more than happy to refund if you don't like who you get). These days, everything is scheduled down to the minute, so booking is essential. Like, I would never even think to walk into a hotel or a non-walk-in restaurant without checking online if I can book for that day.

If you're literally just walking by and think, hey, I want a root right now, then yeah, not much can be done and you'd have to take the gamble.
But if you decided to made the trek somewhere, anywhere, and didn't call/message ahead to see if they have the services available to you at that time before you left, I think that's on you.

Ginza (and some other shops) release their roster the night before, so if you know you want to go the next day, pretty easy to call/message to book someone.
