Got diagnosed with HSV1 from one of the girls (I dont know which one) at mirage since thats the only shop I visit. Even though i tested before and was always negetive, I started getting cold sores for the past two week. Im done with punting and now have to think about what im going to do in the future... Hopefully you all stay safe.

If people think this is fake then thats up to you but the reason why I havent posted any reviews was because I went with the reviews people posted and literally had the same experience so there was no point writing any.

Through Carsales? Sorry couldn't help myself. I always thought the SV5000 was the original HSV1 but in researching before i posted surprised it's the VL SS Group A. I think it's nick was Batman back in the day.

I disagree as i recall the SV5000 the first Holden carrying the special vehicles name and badge. Happy to be corrected.

Hsv1 (afaik/have looked up) is both extremely common (like 80% or somewhere to that effect) and really quite harmless.

Hsv2 appears to be the STD as it's genitalia based as some brothers have already pointed out.

I wouldn't worry about it at all, (if it's only hsv1) but if this raises serious concerns for you, go see a doctor.

As far as the shops girl etc, I don't think there needs to any attention brought to them if it's hsv1.

If it's Hsv2 have a quiet word to the shop owner so the girl can get sorted. There is no point in creating a fanfare on a public forum, I understand wanting to help us out, but given the mild nature of what you have no need to inform.

Don't quote me on it but I think you can still get the oral strain of HSV on your genitals, but that's from direct contact with the cold sore through oral sex.

FYI HSV1 does transmit to the genitals (less likely than HSV2, but there has been a significant increase in HSV1 transmission to genitals when oral sex became the norm - more than half of primary genital infections are caused by HSV1 in young people)

Luckily for OP, oral HSV1 doesn't have the same stigma as genital HSV, but with a fresh infection he does carry a significantly higher risk of transmission - so good on him for stopping punting...unlike some of the people on this forum with HSV2 who continue to punt :anger:

Both types of herpes are so common now that when you go for a full STD screening from your GP, they don't include it.

The dreaded cold sore. Had them long before a punting life. Use Zovirax if it blisters and Lysine 1000mg tablets if it feels like it is coming on. You know it is plentiful when Pharmaceutical companies get in the game. All over the counter 👍

Both types of herpes are so common now that when you go for a full STD screening from your GP, they don't include it.

Both have "wide" community transmission, but they are not THAT common - particularly as people rarely get tested for it. And HSV2 only has a maximum of 1/8 of the population that may have it.

The reason you don't get the HSV test is because:
1. The antibody test is fairly inaccurate (good chance of both false positives and false negatives) - and there's nothing that can be done even if you did have it
2. You can't get a swab test unless you have an active sore because you don't know when the virus is shedding
