Busy with exchanging holiday greetings with friends, ping and ack. Then thinking about schedule in the next couple of weeks. Checking one shop's roster, noticed one friend, who'd pinged me for Xmas, wasn't on the roster. Hmmm. Checked my comms, no ack to my New Year's ping. HMMMMMM. Thinking I'd simply message her and ask where she's working, checked the channel. Looks like Elvis has left the building judging by the SYD airport photos. And while she'd been peculating upwards towards the top, just hadn't gotten around to an in-person visit in the past few weeks. So, of course, my immediate thought was, Damn, that's not fair. I wanted to see her. Human nature, you always want what you can't get (cue the Stones).

Point is, and not with just this single data point. Several others have mentioned home visits, and I'm NOT talking about my home. So for favs and to-do's, especially the Chinese, you might want to check THEIR schedules, and perhaps lock in some visits, or at least some comms. Just sayin...

Well played.

As long as it's NOT "I can't get no satisfaction..."

I heard some girls have gone back home earlier for lunar new year.

From my experience in several lands over several decades, if a Chinese girl can, she will. And "earlier" beats the rush...

Will reiterate my original post. Just saw a friend today, commented on her picking up double shifts at the shop. She confirmed, saying she was picking up the slack of PRC's going home for the upcoming holiday.

Asian girls go home for lunar year. Not just Chinese but a few of the east Asian areas celebrate it.

No big deal.

Actually, for the girls, it IS a BIG deal. The urge to go home is almost biological, culturally ingrained. Most all that can, do. Those that can't sooth themselves with the extra money they make, gathering together for their own celebrations. IME anyway.
