Most of these thai franchisees and independent shops want atleast $95 for rebate and the massage ain't the best. Then $50 on top for hj. Imagine paying the non health fund massage and then the $50+ on top for extras. I don't know how these shops stay afloat or what ounters do this? There is atleast 3 in every shop area. Who's doing this? Most decent brothels charge 150 for 30 mins. And it's 30mins of action, not 10 mins

Always nice to have your health fund cover a hand job. 'Good for one's health'

The high prices are because it's a struggle to find good workers.
I have heard this plenty of times from shop owners.
They charge us more to pay the girls more.

They last year I spent most of my hf on thai shops only to get the most mid massage ever. Some even had the audacity to ask if I wanted a hj half way through, most dont ask want parts i wanted concentrateon nor change pressure when i request. I wasn't after a punt but just a very good massage as I had sore muscles, all these ML care about is money even in a legit shop.
The thing is I went to Thailand, Philippines and veitnam and went to shops that I knew were 100% legit. They all did an incredible job, it seems they want to come to Australia and just give shit service

Is it normal to want a health fund rebate at a happy ending massage place? I didnt even think it was a thing 😅

I would say about half do it. Most thai shops in general offer hj and their boss allows it. Encourages then to stay in the job. However, sometimes I just want a really good massage without the bs.

They're just playing to the majority in the audience. Cost of living a bit higher in SYD and if you're an expat, you work for the coin.
I know several shops where the masseuse is VERY legit and skilled.

I'm yet to find one that is skilled, even upon request. And it has nothing to do with the cost of living in Sydney. Thai shops in nowra want 110-120 an hour. Some idiot is obviously paying for it

1. Doesn't mean they don't exist.
2. I stand corrected. A national masseuse working in her own country, Thailand, Philippines, or Vietnam, all will have lower costs of living in the village she's from. Coming to Australia, like any expat, you want the bigger bucks quicker. And as Backdraft69 has pointed out, shops have needed to increase prices to cover the good workers' salaries, but there is a limit. Some will take a "less pleasant" job to fill up the money bucket faster.
3. Lucky for me, my parents didn't raise me to be a lemming. Never bothers me what others pay. I KNOW what HER experience is worth to ME. If it's worth more to someone else, immaterial to me.
4. I have no idea where Nowra is, but if it's "the sticks" (and no offense to Nowara natives), then scarcity comes into play. Competition... gotta love it.

It's not just Thai remedial massage shops. All remedial manage shops are about $100/h if not more. That's the market rate for legit massage, nothing special.
