Hi guys,

Has anyone ever used ShowAround app where you can hire Tour Guide? I never done it before. I see the reviews is quite not bad, it seems like hire a GF but in a friendly way but who knows ;)

Anyone that has been there, please share your experience of the country, budget spent, where it tour you? was there any chemistry (treat her as gf)? what is the fun thing.
I plan to go visit Manila and Bali.

Don't go into that thinking it's renting a gf or thinking there could be chemistry. These are innocent folks trying to make a few extra bucks by showing you where to eat and drink. Please don't make them feel weird. If you want to punt, just go punting

Took a look at the site and some of them seem to be girls asking $50/hr or more. I don't know, i think it is alot more than just 'showing you where to eat and drink'. But yea the ones offering free or low amount like $20/hr, probably just innocent folks.

As others have mentioned, it's people looking to make some extra money (and based on the country, it could be not much to us but a lot to them). Some people have 'not offering other services' on their ShowAround profile for a reason. And there are more professional operators on there - professional tour guides, who advertise their services through the app.

WADR, AUS99 is fantastic for Australia. But if you are going international, you should go international, ISG, IMO.

I find ISG too annoying to navigate. Trying to search 1000 pages for one city where all the recent posts are people talking about how much better it was 10-20-30 years ago.

Nah, you just have to know where to look (ROD's), and stay away from the Indian threads. On the common pages, no need to read 1000. Newest posts first. Eyeball scanning first 20 pages, easy to pick out the FR's. But I've had a lot of practice.

Here on AUS99, the "I went to shop A, saw Ms B, it was good" AR's... you blink, you miss.
