Anyone noticed more and more Japanese girls being turned around at the airport and being banned lately?
How does immigration know they are working girls? Where will they go after? Can they come back after the ban?

I usually notice Ginza and 108 Mirage regularly have new talent coming in recently - unless if you disagree? The girls i’ve met up with are also aware of being stopped at the border. One girl told me she wanted to watch a KPop concert to get in the border.

There has been an operation by Australian Boarder Force focused on migrant sex workers. It’s called Operation Inglenook. A FOI request shows it’s around 50% Japanese women. That data is about a year old though and not sure if the operation is still underway. I’m sure it’s part of ABF’s day to day activities though - stopping people entering who plan to work without the correct visa.

This article says there are brothel raids occurring in Melbourne which wouldn’t be fun if you got caught up in that!

I'd be very curious to learn the source of your information.

This guy has a history of writing up shit.
The border guys aren't stupid. They have seen and heard everything. Over 100k go through international daily.
Nothing new here and occasionally the border guys get a few and flip them back to their origins.

The only way border force is turning people back is for two reasons
- if there are flags on the traveller for breaching visa previously or if the passenger is on the MAL (movement watch list). So OP yes if they have been denied entry before they won't be coming back without a good reason.
- if they get selected for targeted interview by a border force officer and can't provide details of where they are staying and what funds they have while they are here, or a legitimate reason for visiting Australia (like plans of who they are staying with or what they will be doing).
If the FIFO girl gives her address as the brothel (many of the 42G girls for example live at 42G) theres a good chance they will be sent back as their tourist visa doesn't allow any sort of work.
There's things which raise suspicion to border force, like someone who is staying for the complete length of their ETA Visa (3 months) but only has a small suitcase and can't give details of what they are doing while they are here (like staying at a friends house or visiting family).
I have not personally heard of WLs being targeted but not to say it doesn't happen. Border force officers are looking for anyone who looks suspicious on paper.

Many J girls come here on Working Holiday Visas. I don't believe they are judged on what sort of work they intend looking for.

Those are the ones who make it through. You don't see the ones who get turned back.

Thanks, this must be it. I didn't know it was an official operation thing.

Multiple Japanese WLs have told me this. Their friends have been interrogated at the airport and some turned back. Plus their agencies are also warning them about the same.

I guess the first category is obvious.
But in the second category, would be curious to know what officials look for when selecting those for interviews. Maybe like you said, staying full 3 months and no story for it. Plus young, alone and attractive.
Of course this is only for those coming on a tourist visa. No issues with those on a working holiday visa.

Yeah, the numbers aren’t vey big though. 200 odd people returned in two years. I’m surprised it takes an ‘operation’ to turn around that many. I would have thought it was more than that just generally.

The fly in fly out girls are all on tourist visas. It's the tourist visas and visas which have the no work allowed condition which will get someone turned around.
DOHA recently cracked down on student visas, a lot of the Chinese and Korean WLs had been in Sydney on rolling student visas, some for over a decade. The dodgy schools are all now being monitored and these visas aren't being given out and extended any more, hence the disappearance of Chinese WLs and MLs in Sydney.
