Just when you thought the Qld punting scene was maturing with the introduction of Ozmassagemap, we (or at least I) are back trying to make sense of searching Locanto. Strewth its rubbish! Why, for example, does 5star say its in Woolloongabba, when its in Annerley? Why, when I search for massage in Milton, do I get results from the southside? All, apparently random.
Whats the trick? Hot Locanto tips appreciated!
Thanks

Don't know for sure so don't quote me. Although I would suspect that the likes of 5Star etc pay some $$ to Locanto to show up in results for any surrounding suburbs, rather than just the suburb they are located.

The advertiser enters the location when they post the ad.

Full of fakes that try and direct you to telegram to then either ask for a deposit or they are apparently not comfortable and need you to sign up to their OF so they can get comfortable with you first (to summarise all are scammers).

That or you enquire and ask for details which will include a deposit and when you leave it at that start sending abuse as apparently and enquiry into prices they did not display equals a booking lol (again scammers)

Definitely trash and getting worse but has the occasional gold amongst the fake bullshit every so often.

No real trick to searching. Either do small area searches and branch out bit by bit or do a massive search with keywords. Make sure you set by date advertised, can help with old adds but not the odd ones that endlessly renew.

So many fakes of every type in every category. But 90% of them are obvious.

That used to happen to me long time ago.
First is the advertiser who set up different locations
Second is your settings maybe you are looking in certain area but also give a radius of X kms and that’s why send you to other areas, you have to select your area and limit the radius of search or only that area(of course limits your search)

I just want the phone numbers back. I don’t want to pay to maybe see a phone number. Ffs

I just want the phone numbers back. I don’t want to pay to maybe see a phone number. FfsLocanto won't allow advertisers to put phone numbers in the description field anymore. To add the phone number to the ad in a separate field the advertisers have to pay more. Old ads that still have the phone number in the description field are slowly having them removed.

If an advertiser wants to include the phone number in the separate phone number field on their ad, they have to have a Premium account and pay over $100/mth for 12 months (plus GST!!) or considerably much more per month for shorter periods like 3 months. Locanto is just a rip off now!

I see some are including the phone number in the description field in a disguised form e.g 36 some text 456 some text on a different line "seven" some text 8. It assumes you know a mobile in Aus starts 04. I'm sure there will be variations on the theme as advertisers work out how to avoid paying.

Strewth! We really are going backwards.

Locanto continues to have a number of problems. I am told that they have recently increased their advertising fees but haven't improved anything. Where i can, i try to avoid using it.

There is a new competitor to Locanto specifically for adult services. Similar name to Locanto. Maybe this will prompt someone who remembers it to mention the name here.

No luck finding it myself. Can you tell us the actual site name?

What are the top shops in Brizzy? Might have to check it out soon

Do you guys prefer massage shops to brothels up there?
