Recently gotten the cash, had the spare time and intended to visit a shop, but decided not worth the effort.
Have to find parking, waste my hard earned cash, a few poor recent experiences. Prices have gone up but for me feels like the quality and what is offered has gone down. Punting starting to feel very empty for me, time to take a break from this life.

Understand the same situation for many. Personally it is more a winter thing with me. Cold and wet days, early sunsets and just a tendency for being lethargic. Good to take a seat, reflect on life and save a little cash. Regulars even understand, although they are all doing it tough as well 😎

There are good books to read, good music to listen, good restaurants to visit and good fishing spots etc. Punting is overrated.

I'm not having very many opportunities to get out lately although I wish I could. It must look the same in the shops I like to visit - just fewer people punting. I'm also less distracted at home and work, so that's a good outcome and probably gets me to the same place psychologically as the OP.

A series of really shit punts that actually made me angry has turned me off punting.
