Shop prices increasing

I noticed shop prices are increasing. 888 massage now charges $60 for 30min, same as their Take5 shop. Why would I bother? The shower doesnt even have a fixture to the wall. The rooms are tiny and dark.

I understood the higher prices of Take5 because of larger rooms and showers. I think it's just greed.

Touch have increased their prices as well, higher than Daily Day spa. Kat used to claim DDS was higher because of City rents. Not really an excuse with the new touch location.

Well my advice is don't bother then. maybe mention to the owner/ manager the rooms aren't up to standard with what other places offer.
As for greed, have you not heard of inflation ? Everything is going up pal, even massage prices.

Prices for extras have not increased for a solid 5 years i would say.

In reality though, most people's living costs have gone up a lot more than that. Rent, property prices, insurance, electricity, eating out, even a coffee... plenty of those have jumped closer to 40% or more.

So are we really going to get worked up over an extra $5 or $10?

Apart from the obvious Costs already mentioned, there's the Reno Cost which does need to be Recouped.

The new Touch venue was a rundown old House, previously. Barely livable from my observation.
So most of the place has been completely re-done.
It was a big investment made for a Leased premises.

The problem with putting prices up in these types of shops is that most of the time your not getting a massage. So effectively your paying and extra $10 for a massage that u never got anyway when it was $10 less.
I know some girls r great and will do if u ask but the desire is seldom there, especially when u become a reg.

Fair enough but still hard to complain in QLD. Apart from the rent, the shop owner is responsible for other outgoings as well, such as the council rates, water and Body Corp levy if there is any, which increased a certain percentage in recent yrs.

But on the other hand, the pricing is also up to the competition on the mark. In Sydney, more shops and plenty new supply, so the owner will think twice before making any decision to increase their charging standard.
