Yeah different shops have different processes. I've been to shops that will give you a buzzer at 5 or so minutes to go and then another when time is up. I've been to shops where the reception will come on the intercom at the end of your time and will tell you times up. If you're lucky there will be a clock on the wall in the room and you can monitor the time yourself.
