Some of the milder girls (An Liyan) where trying to offer him helpful life advice, while others weren't backward in telling what they thought about him. Pretty entertaining! Ok, I've watched this show a lot. Seen about every episode!

My main reason for watching this show (apart from it being great fun , providing endless comedy, and great eye candy) is that I was hoping I'd 'get Chinese girls down pat', as in I'd know their likes and dislikes so well that I'd be able to pick them up 100% of the time. HOWEVER,

You should view reality shows the same way you view soapies or dramas, it's the same thing except that the acting is much worse (which is half of their charm).

IIRC, the original Chinese edition of the show runs for about 75-80 minutes and features at least 5 guys. It gets edited down here to 60 minutes (inc ads)and often only 4 guys, so I guess catwalking is seen as a timewaster. lot of dialogue gets cut out too.

What is with the lack of the girls walking down the catwalk, followed by the favourite girl? And no last chance to woo the favourite girl on stage?

That was a vital part of the entertainment - not least because you got to see the girls striding down the catwalk.

Yes, I agree, watching the final two girls walking up stage and then the favourite girl is always the highlight of the show, the best chance to see those bouncy tits if they are busty..............haha :slobber::slobber::slobber:

Did anyone see contestant 15 on the show? She has an obsession with having a mixed baby. Whenever a Caucasian guy appears she says she wants to have his baby so the child will have the best of both worlds. Sounds like some WLs who have said that they want to have Eurasian children.

She probably wants to have a mixed baby because many ppl think they are beautiful. Although it's strange she's not one of those girls who really like white guys.

I can relate to that somewhat. Eg I'd like to have a tall wife so that my son may be very tall, yet I'm not that attracted to tall girls per Se (not any more than other girls). Similarly, with a highly intelligent girl - though I'm not that attracted to them per Se, it will give my son an advantage in this world.

Thirdly, the last guy pissed me off. His mum has cancer and only has one wish - to see her son get married and have grandchildren. And this is that dude's requirements for his ideal girl:

1) be 175-183cm. (This rules out 99% of Chinese girls right off the bat)
2) have masters from Harvard or Stanford (now, the odds of finding a girl with this qualification who is also 175-183cm will be less than 1 in a million)
3) be a virgin (another rarity nowadays)
4) Cannot be a public servant
5) live in his home town
6) Be specifically 25-28 years old

I have read (and seen) that there is a cultural background of the long and detailed public confessional in China. Most evidently in the political trials the communist party have staged. The accused's humiliation is all part of the punishment.

This show taps into that public confessional culture, which probably goes back long before the communist party.
