Just in the interests of caring and sharing - and the fact that this isn't the first time I have posted a picture of myself on the forum - here I am with three girls that I think you could have plucked straight out of an ebony and glass cabinet, such is their exquisite, fragile and delicate beauty.

These girls from Guangdong flew out here for Sydney's Chinese festival - which is the biggest outside of China herself. No surprise that, because we have been lucky enough to have these Aussies here since the 1850s.

I have to confess to you that I am a bit of an aesthetic c**t, and I therefore find it hard in public (or in the privacy of a shop room) not to stare at the faces of Asian girls just the same way that I study works of art. After all, you'll all have to agree that there is no difference between the two.

I just can't help doing it, and I hope the girls that I see in Town Hall concourse, or here at Chinese New Year, know that it is my honest appreciation of their beauty that makes me look at them for perhaps longer that the average joe might. They just may not know how poetic they are, the way all of we know it.

I'd been showing mum a couple of months ago the photos I took at Chinese New Year, and yesterday I was having lunch with her and two of my sisters.

Well, I was showing them some other pics on my camera back, when mum suddenly chirped up, happily and innocently (remembering my New Year shots) that I "liked Asian girls."

The table suddenly went quiet and my two sisters exchanged glances - because if I am famous for anything in my family, it is for being a singleton - and they are a lot more worldly than my mum is!

I figured out to wait down in Darling Harbour where the parade ends. All the girls have broken parade ranks, are milling around, and are still hepped up and in party mode!

There were Koreans in their gorgeous national dress, Chinese girls from various provinces also dressed amazingly (as in my pic) local girls there for the fun or to hold a dragon up, it was all so much better than a structured parade show! Sure there were guys there too, but - I'll give you the drum - you wouldn't be able to tell that from the photos I took. I'm afraid that my pronounced heterosexuality actively hijacked my camera lens! A lot of the girls gave me their e-mail addresses back in China so that I could send them my photos. Maybe they will be back next year, and be very grateful to me this time! In any case, I was in a visual trance milling around with all these cultural and feminine lovelies.
