Anyone seen this yet?

Trailer here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05rzPnZ6lxw) and Wikipedia page here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rush_(2013_film)) if you don't know which movie I'm talking about.

Apparently has great reviews - I saw the trailer and was intrigued so decided to look up who Chris Hemsworth's character, James Hunt was.

This man's a legend! He led a rockstar lifestyle - fast cars, (lots of) women, alcohol, drugs, fame and fortune.

The bloke slept with 33 British Airways stewardesses (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1320323/Formula-1-champion-James-Hunt-slept-33-BA-air-stewardesses-race.html) (!) in the lead up to the race that would crown him world champion.

Yes I know and used to be a big fan of F1 a few decade ago but I started to just watch the start and 10 laps to go now as it is become boring, since they have to safe tyres and to much politics. In the F1 world some German are being Boooo :) Shumi and Vettel are the two sad character a must win attitude at all cost even destroying their image.
Vettel now almost where ever he goes even if he win he is being booo by the crowd ....lol.... sad really for a triple world champion.

Max should know this too, he goes to Singapore every year but this is his excuse to go to gaylang St anyway :)
F1 is all about money and Politics for money :) the good think is at least they will make our car a bit better in a few years time with Tech and Engineering.

I don't have much interest in F1 as I find motorsport in general very boring to watch, but yes I agree, there's not enough colourful personalities around nowadays.

The whole point behind starting this thread was the legendary exploits of James Hunt himself, not the sport of F1.

According to rumours, he bedded some 5000 women in his (short) lifetime and besides the flight stewardess incident, was widely known to have received BJ's minutes before a race (amongst other things).

Schumi is a cunt of the most epic proportions.

His first world championship is still the biggest rort in the history of sport, he deliberately took out Damon Hill in Adelaide when his own car was fucked after clipping the wall, and Bernie and his cronies let him get away with it. :-(

Rant over. Keen to see this movie, cheers for the link to that article about Hunt.

Looks like it will be a great movie to see!

A quote from the article:

Miller, effectively, had been sold to Burton by Hunt for $1 million and both were satisfied with the *transaction.

For Hunt, it couldn’t have worked out better; he had got rid of the wife he never wanted and saved himself the divorce costs.

Another quote:

Nothing could have prepared Patrick Head, now co-owner of the Williams F1 team but then a young car designer, for the morning when he inadvertently walked into the wrong pit garage.

He found Hunt inside, with his racing overalls around his ankles, cavorting with a Japanese girl. Hunt laughed when he saw the interloper, who left, not quite believing what he had seen.

I'm not sure if they're going to show his off track exploits in the film - hence I was wondering if anyone has actually seen it yet.

From the looks of things, it looks like it's more focused upon the racing aspect and his rivalry with Niki Lauda. :(
