No its not normal, most wl are clean and smell nice and taste slightly sweet down there.
If they smell it usually a sign of bad hygiene or worse they have an infection.
Occasionally if the girl is just starting or finishing her periods she may not smell the best down there but usually the girls tell you so you don't go down on them.

Need more info to help.
Most likely bv. Bacterial vaginosis. From constant washing down there

Is it a sickly sweet smell ?
Or a yeasty smell ?
Or just plain gross ?
I don't think it is normal for a smelly puss.

The answer is impossible to give you with any accuracy without a swab of the womans anatomy
The main problem is if you notice this smell and you arent wearing protection - so relax - I trust you were wearing protection with the WL
The possibilities include
1)Yeast infection (&/or poor hygeine) - common
2)WL has just finished her period - common and unpleasant smell
3)Yeast (&/or poor hygeine) and recently finished period - unpleasant smell
4)Bacterial vaginosis - overgrowth of the normal vaginal bacteria flora
5)Sexually transmitted infection (STI) - including gonorrhoea - less common
Im not sure whether or not telling the WL is a tactful thing to do or not. Certainly I would be telling the manager afterwards
In general with any lady, working or not, I would also be getting an STI check if I wasnt wearing protection at the time and felt the woman was not in a monogamous relationship
Note: Its important to note that an STI can exist without any odour at all ! eg chlamydia
You are right to ask the question ! Feel free to Google all of the above
