Heard ont he radio that QPS doing raids on the Gold Coast looking for massage parlour links to bikies. The article suggested they would be seeking to know who the immigration sponsors of the girls to come into the country. Of course, they are looking for prostitution offences as well.

Any observations anyone?

Cash businesses are already a target by the ATO. The point raised about "cash business" was implying that when there is a link found to bikies they would investigate further for illegal activities behind the cash.

Found this report from Channel 7. I had heard another from tv whereby a majority of them weren't owned by the gangs, but were paying them for protection. Expect some with direct involvement to be closed or placed under investigation which will essentially close them anyway.

Others may be relieved a bit to be out from under a paid protection arrangement. They will be subject to scrutiny and forums like this may actually have more impact, as enforcement not on the take will be more likely to follow up comments implicating the various shops.

I reckon in the big scheme of things, not much will change. Probably safer just to pay the PO-PO directly for protection. :cool2:
