So it's my first time at Stanley St massage, which I decided to go to after hearing about a few reviews on here. There was no one around when I walked in, even after ringing the bell a couple of times. I figured it must be pretty busy so I waited for another 5-10 mins before ringing again. This time someone yelled out for me to wait. Gotta say at this point I'm a little put off by the service (or lack of) but decided to stick it out just in case.

So I waited and soon enough one of the girls came up and yelled for T*** who led me into a room. She wasn't slim which is more my type, but she still had a decent body hidden in that tight dress. She then proceeded to ask the usual "How long would you like?". I figured since it's my first time I'd probably take the half hour, and see how we go from there since I'm not getting good vibes from this place.

Turns out, she was not bad. She initiated conversation, among other things. Before long I was asking to see if we could extend it to a full hour. Unfortunately she was already booked for another client half an hour after we were supposed to be finished. The fact that they leave a bit of time between appointments really impressed me since I wouldn't be happy if an ML only had five minutes to clean up after the previous client. Shame though, the half hour was $50 versus the $20 marginal increase for an extra 30 minutes.

She had some build up to the flip which I appreciated when it came to negotiating what's on offer. Although the ML changed my impression of the place, I didn't get an hour to play with so I wasn't willing to pay top dollar. You get offered to shower or hot towel it, and since I didn't do that much I chose the hot towel.

After that we settled the finances (which was great seeing I've been to a number of places which prefer to settle the finances during the negotiation) and I walked out, nodding at a fellow punter on the way.

Would I return? Perhaps if I was in the area again. I'm still spoilt after my three week trip in Sydney, where I could spend the same amount I spent here and obtain the same vfm as if I spent double here.

Can't wait till I check out Melbourne next week onwards, where the lovely ahlungor has left a few tips which I so graciously stole :P

But I digress.

TL;DR Service was good, prices relatively reasonable for Brisbane.

Tried this place 2 weeks ago

Called in to this place the other night. I actually went to the wrong place initially. The Thai place a couple of blocks further east. Asked the girl there if this was Stanley Street Massage. She just gave me a dumb look and the place looked too legit so I bailed.

Anyway found the right place easily enough. Plenty of parking around so that was good. Went in the front door and it seemed I was the only punter in the place. I must admit she was very good with the soft massage. All over the body but deliberately just missing the bits that needed to be missed at that point. MLs are usually contractors with an ABN who sign a contract of employment agreeing not to provide sexual services … most massage shops have signage indicating that they do not provide sexual services

and then I wonder who bears the real risk (other than the punter) in the provision of sexual services in unlicensed premises … the ML could plead guild and agree to testify in support of a conviction not being recorded (ie QJ) and the manager/owner can prove the ML was providing services outside of their employment contract … and of course what about anyone else found on unlicensed premises without a lawful reason

In my opinion, a big issue with naming names and services, is that what a ML might provide to one punter, she may not provide to everyone. Said ML may then be inundated with requests for such services. We all know that there are punters out there that have little respect for the boundries of ML's, and may not take no for an answer. Then yes, there is the issue of illegal services being provided. Why make it easier for the authorities, when a little discretion is all that is required.

The only ones I can think of was the girl at QJ that got deported, and the owner and her bf got busted communicating via text message to each other about what was going on.

The only risk I see with regards to police activity is the possible embarrassment or marital complications of being caught on premises.

With regards to ML risk, the biggest issue is them becoming aware of what you post and not liking it. Or some dickhead member from here reading it and going to see her. dropped into this place yesterday after hearing good things about it from this thread. Walked through the front door and there were 3 girls sitting on the couch. They all seem to be in the mid 20's and I'd rate all of their looks just above average.

Of course, I only ever partake in legitimate massage; but if I ever strayed in this regard then I imagine the following are the sort of rules I'd follow:

* When phoning shops, ensure your phone identification is turned off. (For example, on the iPhone: Settings --> Phone --> Show My Caller ID --> off).
* Avoid SMS as it would only leave a trail.
* Don't ever ask for illegal services via ph or text. Of course, I don't ever ask for illegal services.... but if I did I'd wait until I was hard and nude on the table!
* Use cash not credit card.
* Use a nickname not your real name. I would use a name similar to my actual name in the event an ML just happened to use my 'name' with someone I know around (in the off chance) - can just blame the language barrier.
* Don't use loyalty cards; that's what partners and the boys in blue call evidence.
* Generally avoid places without proper rooms - ensure they have enclosed rooms, walls to the ceiling and doors that can be locked. And ask for the door to be locked. *Don't know how it's normally done but I imagine it would be easier to spring one of those curtained joints in peak hour.... and I imagine it would also be easier to get caught with your pants down or your member up. (Although I must admit, one I find irresistible ..... for legit massage only, of course!).

I would imagine the only reason they would confiscate SIMs is to go through and check any messages from the ML's stating they provide "X" illegal service, which they could use as evidence. It is not illegal to phone a place suspected of being used for illegal prostitution, so your chances of being tracked down is pretty much zero. At worst, if they contacted you, just say you must have accidently dialed a wrong number.

This is what happened at QJ. Supposedly the owner went to court and just got a fine, but had to declare bankrupcy after the ATO imposed $1mil tax debt.

Thanks Rob Kilbey and Jaccky. I hope you are right. Did a bit of searching on the net for similar incidents in Qld in the last few years and found that most articles indicated this to be the case. Heavy fines for owners; lesser penalties for MLs if any at all; punters generally not mentioned unless in the shop during the raid but very little detail given (some cases it says a punter was charged - whatever that involves).

Will continue to watch this one with interest. I appreciate your insights.

From what I heard after the QJ raid, three punters fronted court, 2 were fined with no conviction recorded and I believe the third was fined with a conviction recorded. Fines were between $200 and $1000.
