Well I've been quiet on the forum lately and thought I'd share a story.

Before Christmas randomly met a Chinese lady 40, divorced that was here in Brisbane visiting her daughter whom was finishing university here. Invited her for a coffee and a chat. She was adamant that she didn't want to go to Sunnybank Plaza. Apparently she heard that western men go there to perv on young asian girls. First meeting went well, coffee, chat, dropped home, no molesting, no kiss.

Then added each other on wechat and kept in contact. Next meeting she is telling me how great I am and good looking. (I can assure you I'm not, but it was good for my ego). Well after all of these years on here raving about the young cute 21-26 year old asian girls that we frequent it was certainly an upgrade to be with an educated, middle class chinese woman - wow.

Ended up having a couple of wonderful weeks with her. She's gone back to Shanghai now. I have no idea if she is married there or what her status is. We are unlikely to meet again and keeping up a long distance relationship is too hard for me.

Go to Myer Centre eatery at lunchtime and scan Wechat. Usually a handful within 100m. Look around its not that hard to recognize them sometimes. I have enjoyed the company of a couple of HABs over lunch recently.

I thought it was the opposite, surely the hot MLs, WLs have at least 5-10 regular punters that consider themselves boyfriends (ie close admirers).

Their location is just part of their profile. Some of them come here to live and forget to change it. Or some are genuinely from China but are here on holiday. Regardless they show up in who's nearby according to their phones gps not by the location entered into their profile.

really. I find that I can be logged in on my iphone, then use my desktop PC to access web.wechat.com. the messages on the web browser are the same as on my phone. What sort of sync are you expecting?

wechat erlies on you being connected first via a mobile device for authentication.

It seems that the profiles have a similar function to snapchat now. You can view the pics and profiles for only a couple of seconds if they are not your friends/contacts.

If that's the case, then it probably won't be long until someone brings out an app that automatically saves the image when opened, like you can do with certain snapchat apps.

No its a privacy setting that stops non friends being see your albums or moments as they care called.

Privacy settings and there is a flag to turn off public moments

I can confirm right now (on android version) i can still see some people's moments in people nearby. And they dont dissapear. Assume they have this public moments setting enabled

However I have noticed for quite a while sometimes the thumbnail of the profile pic changes to a different pic when the profile is viewed but I always assumed this is because the server cache hadn't updated the thumbnail yet when they changed profile pic
