I was trying to remember why the way she said "bye-bye!" was so familiar and I suddenly realised that it is the same way a fun (and funny) cantonese grandmother who works in my local cornershop says it - she is always making me laugh. :D:D

Was browsing and came across this thread when i searched for "cantonese".....

anyone know any WL either from Hong Kong, Macau or Mayalsia that can speak canto??

I think I spoke to Macau Ruby from Ginza in Canto. But perhaps it was Mando… Sorry, my memory is not too good 😔
Of course JayJay speaks Canto and Mando.

The only Cantonese slang I know is Gweilo :(
In Mandarin I think its Laowei.
But I prefer Gweilo. It sounds nicer :)

Cantonese is more difficult to learn than Mandarin because of it's tones. That aside there are a lot more mando speaking WL than canto.

Of course JayJay speaks Canto and Mando.
Most of the younger generation canto speaking people like HK, Macau, even Malaysia can speak Mando now. If you do find a WL that only speaks canto, she's probably a Gen X oldie!
Ruby does speak canto, but you can tell it's not her mother tongue. Very heavy accent just like a mainland girl.
