Money is one reason but there are lots of other reasons too.
It also depends on whether you are talking about just a fuck or a life partner.
If woman are looking for a life partner and someone to have and raise children with then looks is just one of many criteria; income, personality, a nice guy, loyal, potentially a good father, not a player, kind, gentle, humour etc.
Men seeking a life partner and someone to be the mother of their kids will also take many factors into account and not just looks. They will often settle for an average looking woman if they think she will make a good wife and mother.
If it's just about getting a fuck then looks are far more important.
Men tend to focus on looks more, but may find lots of other things attractive too.
But men will also fuck average or even ugly women if they are horny and just want a fuck they'll just take what's on offer - a fuck is a fuck. So an average or even ugly woman can fuck a good looking guy just by making herself available.
