Went to the pub for lunch a few days ago u know the one across the road from that massage joint at holland park went to order my meal and was told only one cut of meat left ,was assured its quite good its even exported to china ,blimey i thought it must be good ill have one of those then so when the meal came out the presentation looked nice but when i tasted the meat it just didnt seem to b up to the standard ive had at this pub before and to make it worse their steaks have gone up $ 5 .i tried to give my steak a bit of a prod and poke with my fork just to see if it was still pink inside but to my suprise my steak didnt seem to like this too much so i just stuck to licking off the juices that were forming .so finished main meal time for dessert ,well dessert arrived very soon and was excellent and plenty of it in fact it took me a good half hr to finish it off.to my suprise the dessert was much more expensive than the main meal .they were also playing one of my favourite songs by 3 dog night which by sheer coincidence mentioned the cut of steak i had, dont think i will b having this steak again which is a pitty because the dessert was excellent. Cheers shouldnt get locked up for that one.

That story reminds me of this one time .... at band camp ....
I was only interested in thumping this girl's double bass, but in the end had to settle for her playing on my flute.

I went to the same pub few weeks ago. Waitress was Cxxxxx. I asked for extra mushroom sauce for my steak and was served promptly no questions asked. When I asked for the bill I was shocked that the sauce was double the price of the steak itself. I might skip the sauce next time.....and just be content with the fries on the side....😒

To save money, you could always do the gravy yourself, although not the same as the waitress serving it for you

The view from that pub is pretty decent when you are facing the meal, as opposed to it being behind you.

It's generally good quality steak though with a high marble score. I guess you get what you pay for.

HappySammy, as per usual, broke it down into entertaining, bite-sized chunks for you;)

"I particularly like their Steak Diane with Sausage although it isn't always on the menu."
That sounds like the trans itional menu.

and when all else fails, there is the older more experienced waitress to help you 'get some pork on your fork'

No probs. Let me spell it out for you plainly...
Reddoor was simply discussing an overpriced meal he had at the pub but was accompanied by a lovely dessert.
Bubbaloo was initially talking shit so deleted it. We'll never know what mysteries were entailed in that first comment which is now lost for ever. He then followed up with some encouragement, basically saying, "Well done, Reddoor. You told us exactly what we needed to know about the meal without over-sharing details which could damage the reputation of the pub or the meal."
gpeck80 was being a bit more subtle as he was speaking in euphemisms: there was a girl at school he wanted to bang but he could only get a handjob out of her (or perhaps it was a blowjob given a flute requires the use of lips and blowing).
Emporio brought us back on topic and descibed a time he was overcharged for mushroom sauce. And nobody has mush room for that sort of service!
Flamejob proposed a solution to Emporio's problem by suggesting he bring his own mushroom sauce but he qualified the recommendation by pointing out that it is not as fun serving yourself at a restaurant when you have a waitress available. And I have to agree: I prefer to eat at home rather than service myself at the pub.
gpeck80 made the point that it is a better view facing the meal than facing the other way. And he is correct. The way that particular pub is set up, when you are positioned in your seat facing the meal it does afford a much more pleasant view generally - lots to see. But infrequent visitors to the pub might wonder why anyone would face away from the meal. It is a strange and inexplicable tradition that you normally start by facing away from the meal. Not my preference but it is a long standing tradition.
Emporio followed with a truism: you get what you pay for.
Then came the most brilliant and witty comment of the thread which surprisingly didn't draw much attention. Simply stated, HappySammy's favourite meal at that pub is: Steak Diane with Sausage (http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/1966/creamy+steak+diane)
Not giving up, HappySammy then followed up with a witty play on words in response to gpeck80's music euphemism: Trebble & Clef are music terms but it sounded like 'trouble' and 'cliff'. Brilliant, right! The effect was to transport the forum to a level of intellectual wit and wonder not experienced before resulting in no response whatsoever.
A seperate thread (http://forum.aus99.com/showthread.php?56421-lunch-at-the-pub-2) then kicked off explaining that Sushi is now on the menu.
I hope that helps clear things up for you, mate.
Ah of course, crystal clear now mate. Thanks for clearing it up for me 😳
