In Japan there is a similar thing where you can pay for a girl to sit and drink with you, they have signs on the street showing the systems, ie. how much you pay and how many drinks you get and how long you can stay, seems pretty weird to aussies where we can just rock up and pay for someone to strip at a strip club or get a massage at
a massage joint or a root at a brothel.
Also in some european countries you can do a similar thing but it is more subtle, in some "nightclubs" if you don't buy a girl an expensive drink you get shown the door ...

These places are Not brothels, and sexual services were Not on the card, it's either a high class night club where some musical entertainments are presented or simply just a club where "gentlemen can relax , have a drink with some beautiful hostesses or in many occasions - a kind of business entertainment either before or after a dinner engagement with your VIP clients.

If customers wanted to go further with these hostesses , they usually have to spend a lot of time and money to build good will and rapport before the hostesses would agree and you could imagine that when it does happen , it ain't cheap .

Hong Kong had something very similar in the past but probably tarnished a fair bit when many girls wanted to make some quick bucks and became an escort on the very first meet and would go out with the client to a hotel for FS and if not an all nighter would return to the club for the next fuck !

No, you don't go to ktvs by yourself. It's meant to be sort of a "sociable form of punting". Say you had business associates or good mates that you want to entertain with girls and booze, but you also want to be in a position to be able to talk to them. In a brothel, your associates will just pick a girl and go to the room. You can't talk to them until the deed is done.
In a ktv, you get to socialize all the time the girls are there with you. If you want to fuck the girl, some ktvs have bathrooms attached to the rooms, separate rooms with beds, a take away policy, or you can do it right there in the room.
The thing with ktvs is to remember never to drink too much if you want to fuck the girl, let the girl do the drinking. A lot of inexperienced punters make this mistake, end up paying a lot of money but can't perform in the end.

It is ok if you arent korean but i highly recommend taking atleast 1 person who is korean. They can jip you/deny the have that service to non korean groups. $600 is pretty standard depends how much you decide to drink and how long you want to stay tbh. Bottles are pretty expensive in these joints. Girls usually are uni students but ranges to the older ones. Get a girl each as they will pretty give you undivided attention. Soft touching is allowed like thighs etc and they just technically sing talk pour you drinks and drink with you. Theres one in china town, epping (near anz a glass door which leads you upstairs and theres a karaoke sign), lidcombe (the chapel karaoke) and much more. Those ones are the ones i have been too but not my cup of tea.

I went to a lot of them in other countries.. Probably like 50 times in Hongkong, Shanghai, Malaysia, Indonesia.. Never in Syd because of the pricing issue. Way too out of my budget. Overseas its like $200-400 gets you a whole night with girls to take home and neverending booze already while to do the same here would be $1000 upwards probably. Its more popular in those countries than here I've noticed. Price seems to be the issue as well as legality of brothels. Here in Syd a lot of people think brothels are just more convenient I guess. However its always fun as hell in my experience though to go pick a girl in KTVs and get wasted together with a hot girl and sing your asses off though especially with big groups and funny people.
