Hello fellow punters

Just had a question in my mind..

Have seen a lot of ads here with WeChat IDs..I haven't used WeChat at all till date.

I am planning to install it on my phone..Can somebody tell me how does it work..?

If we add somebody would the other person be able to see my mobile number?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Hi mate I just took it off my phone, I was down the pub watching the footy yesterday afternoon at half time I had a look on wechat. After about 15 mins my wife rang me she's Vietnamese, apparently a few of her friends saw I was on wechat and they told her I was looking for women wtf . I don't need any dramas maybe some of the brothers no how to put it into stealth mode.

How did they recognise you? Did they see your number or is your wechat account under a different name or nickname?

I don't have WeChat installed but I remember how it works is like whatsapp where it's linked to your phone number and when you add numbers to your phone be it massage or fs places it gets added to your friends list...
So I would suppose if u look at someone's activities and friends list u may see that they have 'special friends'

I dont think that other people can see your contacts and only mutual friends can see other peoples contacts on your posts. Likewise if you comment on someone elses post - only mutual friends of that person can see your comments.

Doesn't it have a facility in your settings where you can stop any automatic adding of friends?

I dont think it does. Wechat sees your contacts and asks you who to add.....it is done in the initial set up. You can go into settings and re-sync or unlink your mobile to Wechat....which they say is less secure.....

Most of the shops and agencies are moving over to wechat and posting photos of their girls there rather than here.

wechat is good and you can use it stealth mode super easy . easiest way to get updated on rosters etc

You can turn off " Find me by my phone number " then your friend can't see you, and don't post on Moments.

Or simply get a $2 sim for a spare phone (everyone should have a spare phone lying around given most people upgrade their phones every year or 2) and load up we chat on that and use that phone purely for fun activities!

If you have a steady partner, wife etc it is always better to be careful and never use your primary device for these things. I'm currently single again but I still keep a separate phone for this purpose.

Just Simply press + on right top corner then insert someone's ID or Scan Code.

You don't need to keep this phone on you at all times........just take it out when you making bookings and shit

All you need is just different google account and make sure wechat is setup on the fake account.

I use Wechat to look at Roster but hide the moments. I only have one main phone. It is too troublesome to keep two phones and potentially raises questions.

Most apps can be easily managed these days so you don't get notifications or notifications only from certain people

Yes I know you can silence notifications. Not all men do. Also, I had a gf see a messaging app on my phone, and opened the app to see who was contacting me. The home screen of all these messaging apps includes the last message from each recent contact

If you have sumsang phone you have secure folder so can password hide and lock. Or You download a hide and lock app.to lock you WeChat.

If you are using android base, it seems parallel space is a nice app to have. Else silent notification + different account. Buy another number to register for the wechat account and switch in between!

It is not their fault mate. WeChat is enforcing its policies with regards to accounts who engaged in P4P services. We are lucky they still are allowed to use WeChat.
