How do you disguise your punting holiday?

I'm looking to plan holidays with the primary purpose of having fun at night. Destination is probably Bangkok or Phillipines (Germany too far, Shanghai/HK not good value). Its pretty hard to not say where you're going i.e. to work ppl, family, particular friends.
What do you do about this?
- say you are going for work? (not an option for me)
- say you are going for some other activity (already done tourism, so 'partying' or Scuba diving? or golf? or muay thai lessons - which I might actually do too, backpacking in SE asia)

What do you think the best excuse is? This probably depends on destination too and life circumstances (I'm late 20 living in own place)

Why not just tell people you are going there on holidays and to do some sightseeing? Select a few tourist attractions to target and visit whilst you are there and take some photos to show your friends if you want.

Thailand is a very popular tourist destination for Aussie tourists.
100,000s go there every year and most of them NOT for punting.
So you really don't have to justify your trip to anyone.
If you have a GF or wife then that's much more tricky, but friends and family is no problem - you are taking a holiday, end of story.
Obviously don't tell them you are going to well known sex tourism destinations like Pattaya though.
Just mention popular places like Bangkok, ChangMai, Phuket, Koh Samui etc

Tell them you're going to Koh Samui just as other brothers here suggested. Tell them you're going there to enjoy yourself and pick up english and scandinavian backpacker chicks...

The other places I have mentioned have a sex industry too (well not really so much in Koh Samui) but they also have lot's of other attractions for tourists, eg beaches, shopping, snorkelling, shopping, temples, culture, food and drink, elephant rides, full moon parties etc.
So people won't really be very suspicious.
But Pattaya is purely a sex tourism destination.
Apart from the sex workers, bar girls, and gogo bars, which are AWESOME, the place is a shit hole and the beach small and crappy and dirty.
So you have no reason to be there except for the sex.
Just to digress when I was last there I noticed lots of families of tourists, mainly Indian and to a lesser extent Arabic, Chinese and Russian.
I was thinking who the fuck would bring his wife and kids here?
Then it dawned on me that these married guys were bringing their naïve wives and kids here with the promise of a lovely beach holiday in exotic Thailand and once they are there they can always slip out for an hour or so "to have a jog", "take a walk on the beach", "buy a souvenir" or say they "have a headache" and stay at the hotel while the wife and kids go out etc and get a quick punt in ;)

There's a lot of tour groups from HK and China that takes people to Pattaya spending a day or 2 there. Mainly to watch the ladyboys and have photos taken and also visit some zoo there

You're right. Mention Pattaya and straight away people know you're going for sex. Just mention other places or say you're into nature and want to visit picturesque places like Chaing mai or the islands down south. Hopefully, it won't make you appear like a tourist just wanting to have sex with young Thai girls.

I have a reliable friend in Singapore who has business in far east asia countries. My wife meet him b4 (we actually stay at his place last time we went Singapore). So he is kind of trust worthy to my wife.

I think Thailand just has a stigma as a sex tourist capital that if you tell most people you're going there for a holiday, most people would think you're going there to punt unless you're Thai or have some kind of business there. I would assume this is especially so if you are going alone.

I remember once I was working and some guy was saying he likes to go to Thailand a lot and when he goes he stays with friends or people he knows. I remember a woman I was working with tell me later when he left that he was a seedy old man since she had assumed that he goes there to fuck prostitutes. I must admit I thought the same thing, but I didn't look down on him because of it. I was asking him about his trip and stuff. She on the other hand didn't think the same. I thought she would have been more open minded. Just goes to show that a lot of people look down on punting and punters in general. Can't tell that type of stuff to anyone these days.

Johor Bahru in Malaysia is just across the border and is known to be a city of entertainment (Plenty of Vietnamese Girls).
You could easily fly to Singapore and tell people you are there for holiday and make your way to Johor Bahru which is only an hours car ride if there is no traffic.
