This is good advice. Soi Cowboy and Nana's are good for look but seeing many fat & bald english sex tourists hanging around just didn't make me want to stay there. Better shopping elsewhere.

Pattaya is an absolute must-do - way better than Phuket. It is only 1:15 mins drive from Bangkok airport and you can get a taxi for like $30

There are like 100+ go-go bars in a reasonably walkable area near Walking Street, Pattaya. Do some research - Peppermint for some hands-on fun and HeavenAbove for some real hotties. It's a big cheaper than Bangkok too

Wow - that is big news... I must have just missed all this! There have been shakedowns in the past - usually it blows over. From what I'm seeing, the crackdown is over illicit Activities on-site rooms, and public nudity. The former shouldn't be an issue - no real need when you can just go back to the hotel. No nudity - well that would be a downer! But not a disaster - still are plenty of options there e.g. Watching Bar girls in skimpy bikinis is still fun, especially if they're hot and you can go with them for $80!
