Can anyone recommend a good place for lunch/dinner that is totally discreet but has great food. Preferably in or not too far from CBD. Don't want to bump into family friends if you get the drill!

Haha, if money is no object , you might as well do it in style ! Sydney Hilton has some sensational spa suites plus room services could be the perfect mid day rendezvous!

Mate, you got a family. Aren't they good enough to you or something?

But to your question, try hooters. Because I think if a family friend sees you, nothing will be disclosed by anyone.

"Murphy's Law" states that no matter where you go, there is a risk of being spotted by someone who knows you.

I've been sprung in far away places like New York and Japan.

If it's that discreet it must be closing down soon due to no business

Just find a very expensive place that your family and friends couldn't afford to go to.

Wear a black shirt and black trousers and if someone spots you just put a napkin on your sleeve and pretend you're a waiter.
To make it even more convincing pick a restaurant that matches your ethnic background, that way you really look the part.

This is so true.
I bumped into friends in a London Hotel and on another occasion I met people that I know at the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio Di Janerio. The last place that I would have expected to see anyone that I know.
Fortunately, on both occasions I was alone at the time.

Sometimes getting found in such locations can be beneficial. On one trip in Tokyo, I was on a train going to visit a former g/f for an evening on fun. Somewhere in the crowd I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to find another former g/f (who I'd lost contact with); needless to say I ended ended up with another evening of fun.

Travelling broadens the mind, they say.
